2 Ways to Be Green this Month

  • Try out the plant-forward diet by eating smaller amounts of meat and more vegetables. Take one day this month to cut out meat completely!
  • Participate in our Sip Smarter and Skip the Straw Campaign! All of our dining halls have eliminated straws, but consider skipping them the next time you're at Greenberrys or West Range!

Volunteer: This year we will be hosting our annual Green Game on Saturday, November 10th against Liberty University. A key component of this challenge is having a lot of student participation. We need a lot of volunteers to make this event a success. Please sign up to volunteer here and Find the Facebook event page here! Every volunteer gets free food, a t-shirt, and other freebies!"

Local Finds this Month

From the Farm

This month Virginia farmers are harvesting grapes, pumpkins, corn, and soybeans, so be on the look out! If you spot one of these items post it to your social media and tag @UVADining to show us you love local!

From our Community

This month stop by Newcomb Fresh Food Co. to try some locally grown apples from Saunders Brothers Orchard in Nelson County, VA. These crisp apples are the perfect healthy snack for a fall day! Remember apples are compostable, so make sure to take advantage of our compost bins at all dining halls for when you finish!
