VIRTUAL QAGGIQ PROJECT

RPAN is pleased to partner with NuWellness Games to assist in the development and evaluation of the Virtual Qaggiq, a mobile game designed by, and for Inuit Youth. The Virtual Qaggiq will teach a combination of Inuit and ‘southern’ mental wellness strategies and skills to improve resiliency and to support youth as they overcome challenges in their own lives.

The project team will soon be inviting community youth to test the game. If you are interested in being hired as a community facilitator or you know youth interested in being paid testers, click here to learn more!

Summer means camp, sun and Blue Jays baseball! The Summer Day Camp campers from Pond Inlet showcase their "OK Blue Jays" skills in one of the cutest videos you'll see this month!

For the past twelve years, Dawn Currie has led RPAN since it's infancy, growing programs and initiatives from the ground up. Today, RPAN's youth initiatives are the largest in the Territory. Last month, Dawn delivered her 10th Summer Day Camp training for Recreation staff and youth leaders before stepping back from her RPAN duties into semi-retirement. Dawn's contributions to recreation and life in Nunavut are immeasurable and while it won't be the last time we see her, we wish her the best in her semi-retirement. Thank you Dawn!
