As #PCAPrideTour slows down, #PCATryoutTour zooms in, and we know #PCATeamsGiveBack season is soon to come! Many teams completed their tryouts in August and welcomed new members already. Cheer Austin, CHEER Tacoma, Cheer Salt Lake, Cheer Portland, and CHEER Colorado still have tryouts happening this month! Encourage all your new siblings to JOIN THE RALLY and subscribe to this newsletter! A couple of giving announcements have already hit the presses. CHEER Colorado finished Season 6 and announced its beneficiary donation on “CHEER Colorado Day,” Sept 24. CHEER San Francisco finished its 43rd year with an announcement of its beneficiary donations at “Amplify” on September 7. Follow them on social media for the reveals! September’s cultural calendar brought #HispanicHeritageMonth (Sept 15-Oct 15) and #BiWeek (Sept 16-23), motivating us to be louder storytellers and prouder allies to promote visibility and solidarity for the LGBTQ+ community. |

FACES of PCA (by Dirk Smith) |
“Faces of PCA” presents the people behind the poms. Each video interviews a different volunCHEERleader who has come to embody the mission and values of PCA and #CharitableCheerleading. All videos are filmed, edited, and produced by the incomparable David "Dirk" Smith. Dirk has provided a platform for our cheerleaders to express how PCA has contributed to their identity, their journey, their sense of belonging, and their mental and physical fitness. Watch these personal stories and you will appreciate the tangible benefits of exercise, sport, philanthropy, and community that we’ve experienced through adult cheerleading. September’s FACES of PCA video: Jayden of CHEER Colorado Jayden describes his experiences with discrimination, heartbreak, and loss (being fired from his job as high school cheer coach on the basis of his identity), and his subsequent rejuvenation upon learning about and joining CHEER Colorado and PCA. |
