Hello all you gorgeous subscribers and welcome to my September newsletter. I managed to escape to Wales for a few days and this gave me the wonderful rest I needed. Having been short on time for sewing, I thought I'd pack up all my gear and take it with me to the rented house where we stayed, in the middle of nowhere with a beautiful river view. My very own sewing retreat. |

I was in the process of fitting the Sagebrush Top by the Friday Pattern Company so brought along my toile for final adjustments. With my upper bust measurement larger than my full bust, there were a number of tweaks I needed to make. I posted my fitting process in a blog post and on Instagram on the off chance that others with similar proportions might also find this problem, and I was surprised by the huge discussion this sparked as it resonated with others. This led Simone of IntenselyDistracted to start up a new Instagram hashtag called #UpperBiggerThanFull for similar proportioned sewists to share their fitting processes and advice. |

As we head into Autumn, my thoughts turn to knits. Having started Stretch! a little while ago to learn more about sewing with knits, I thought I'd return to this book format having enjoyed Love At First Stitch. I sewed the first pattern in this book the Bibi Skirt a while ago and love how it turned out, especially with the addition of a little stretch lace trim on the bottom. Next is the Frankie t-shirt, but I'm hoping to upgrade the style with a little fancy fabric :) |
