Hello all you smashing subscribers and welcome to my March newsletter. Lots of you enjoyed the bomber jacket I shared last month, commenting that you wouldn't have gone for such a pattern until you could see the versatility with different fabrics. Here's another chance to see my review in case you missed it. |

Perfect for the currently very rainy weather here in the UK, I completed my Kelly Anorak by Closet Core Patterns. This gorgeous yellow dry oilskin creates a ray of sunshine against the dull grey background, and amongst the many blue and black jackets around. My full review will be shared next month, but in the meantime here is a post about my fitting adjustments with photos of my finished jacket. |

As you know, I really value sewing retreats and workshops as a way of committing blocks of time to immerse myself in sewing, in the company of other enthusiasts and as a great way of learning tips and techniques. Next month I am attending a Creative Spirit retreat run by Lisa Falconer of The Avid Seamstress. What really appeals with this one is the holistic nature of the experience, which includes not only sewing but meditation and massage. |

I will be making The Blouse, for which I am currently making a toile whilst in a rented apartment in Wales for the Easter weekend. I will often pack my sewing kit on such holidays, another way of dedicating time to this much loved hobby. I would love to hear about other ways you all manage to fit sewing into your busy lives. Catch up with you next month x |
