Dear Friends,

As we usher in the new year, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters. Whether through kind words, connections, hands-on assistance, or financial contributions, your impact on young women across the country is immeasurable.

In 2023, our commitment to increasing Grantee visibility was evident through a successful fundraiser, raising an astounding $20K for our Grantees! The event, supported by friends, family, peers, and corporate donors, was a memorable experience detailed on our website.

Highlights from our Grantees include:

  • 🎊 Curt’s Cafe celebrated its 11th annual Gala,
emphasizing community support for at-risk youth in food
    service and life training.

  • 🤝 Polished Pebbles solidified a partnership with the NBA Foundation, aiming to empower young black girls.

  • 🧳 Rock The Street Wall Street expanded into Toronto, offering diverse opportunities for high school girls in math education.

  • 🏆 Mary Smith, Vice President of the Caroline and Ora Smith Foundation, was recognized as a 2023 Business Leader of Color for her work in STEM.

  • đź“– Takiyah Wallace-McMillan's debut book, "The Color of Dance," supporting diversity in ballet. Book sales will directly fund efforts to increase the representation of dancers of color in ballet.

"Stepping into the intricate landscape of education, I find myself confronted with a challenge that demands not just recognition but a strategic approach for transformation. The report, “Opportunities Denied: High Achieving Black and Latino Students Lack Access to Advanced Math,” serves as a compass, pointing towards a future where the equation is balanced and opportunities are not a privilege but a right." Our mission awareness reached new heights through the "Sisterhood Is Power" podcast series, featuring founders of major nonprofit organizations. Listen on our website, Apple Music, Spotify, and more.

Looking forward, we remain dedicated to supporting Grantees and making a positive impact. Your continued support is crucial. Explore ways to help on our website or contact us at info@alzeniaproject.org with the subject line "Support."

Warm regards for a wonderful new year!
