Dear friends,
The last months have felt so good again and we have so much to look forward to! We're enjoying the beautiful weather and playing regular concerts where we get to see you, our audience again. This makes us so happy!
We’ve played some wonderful concerts since our last newsletter including a Celebrating Women! programme in the Zeeuwse Concert Hall in Middelburg which is not only beautiful but also has a fantastic acoustic. The concert was recorded and broadcast a week later on NPO Radio 4 and you can still listen back on this link:

We were also very moved by the generosity of the audience in our concerts in Beetsterzwaag, Friesland and in Middelburg where they helped us to raise €280 and €325 in CD sales for Giro 555 to support Ukraine.
We were just too late to let you know about our most recent concert, the Memorial Concert in the Noorderkerk in Amsterdam on 4th May, Remembrance Day in The Netherlands. After the two minutes silence the audience entered the church and we performed music from After The Darkness; trios by Gideon Klein, Hans Krása, Dick Kattenburg and Mieczysław Weinberg, and, to finish, Ravel’s Kaddish arranged by Marijn van Prooijen. It was particularly moving to play Kattenburg’s Trio à Cordes again in the city where he was born just over a hundred years ago.
Here's a list of our upcoming concerts:
* Coming up very soon, we're playing this Sunday, 15 May at 3 p.m. in De Verbeelding, Zeewolde. Organised by the QEM Foundation, our dear friend Rob van den Broek invited us to play there as part of sponsoring our CD’s crowdfunding campaign last year for which we are still very grateful! We’ll be playing music by Irene Britton Smith, Emmy Frensel Wegener, Miriam Hyde and Ethel Smyth, all music from our CD Celebrating Women! Ticket sales will be donated to Giro 555 to support Ukraine.

* On Saturday, 28 May at 8 p.m. we will return to De Gevleugelde Ezel, a beautiful restored farmhouse in Poederoijen, Gelderland where you can enjoy Haydn, Smyth, Britton Smith and Beethoven with a delicious supper afterwards.

In June we have three concerts planned:
* Our concert in the Maisel Synagogue in Prague, rescheduled from October 2020, is finally going ahead on Thursday, 2 June. Invited by the Jewish Museum in Prague to play music from After the Darkness, it will be especially moving to play music by Gideon Klein and Hans Krása in the city where they both studied and worked. We’re very grateful to the Netherlands Embassy in Prague for supporting our concert and the Jewish Museum for also arranging a guided tour of Theresienstadt/ Terezín, the camp where both composers were interned and wrote their trios before being sent by transport to Auschwitz.

* On Wednesday, 15 June at 12.45 p.m. we’ll play a half hour lunch concert in the Kloosterkerk, The Hague. On the programme is Beethoven’s String Trio in G major, op. 9 no. 1.

* On Sunday, 19 June at 3 p.m. we’re playing in our hometown of The Hague again! This time in the Haagse Kunstkring on the Denneweg in their series of ‘Musical Portraits of Well-known People of The Hague'! There you’ll hear string trios by Klein, Krása, Hyde, Wegener and Beethoven.

To finish we’d like to highlight our concert on Sunday, 14 August in Cratfield, Suffolk at 3 p.m. in the concert series Concerts at Cratfield. For all our friends in England, we’d be so happy to see you there, especially those who used to come regularly to our annual Cambridge concerts!
We’re playing our programme (Hidden) Classics with music by Haydn, Smyth, Britton Smith and Beethoven.

And that brings our 21/22 season to a close. Another rollercoaster of a season with cancelled concerts, illness, lockdowns and then the joy of playing regular concerts again.
For now we’d like to send you all our very best wishes. Enjoy the beautiful weather and we hope to see you at one of our concerts!
