Letter from the President Greetings All! How the world has changed in the last twelve months or so! I could try wax philosophical, but in my private conversations that has veered off into the political and this may not be the proper venue for that. So let me just list a few of the highlights from the last year. |

PCI has been able to keep all of our people fully employed and productive so far throughout this pandemic. In the past year we have been thrilled to welcome several new clients into the PCI family of clients. We wrapped up work on a rare (and impressive!) custom private home in Burlington. We had three promotions in the company! Hunter Gomez promoted to Senior Project Manager; Natty Jamison promoted to Associate Project Manager; and former intern Kelly Lyon promoted to Outreach Coordinator. We hired Audrey Clayton as our new Project Coordinator (and aspiring Project Manager). We managed to pull off a fun staff outing on Lake Champlain aboard Friend Ship of the Whistling Man Schooner Company (yours truly was the Captain). Two members of our team completed HUD-sponsored training on the Davis/Bacon rules and regs.
The whole team is immersed in what is shaping up to be a very busy 2021. And despite the challenges of living and working through a pandemic, the word that foremost in my mind is gratitude. I am grateful for the trust our clients continue to place in us. I am grateful to be working with this team of such smart, talented, hardworking young people. And I am grateful for science and the people who employ it for the benefit of humankind. Onward! Tom P. |

Company Update 2021 has brought a lot of new beginnings for PCI. Our team has grown as we continue to take on more new and exciting projects. Additionally, we have been expanding our services by finding more estimating opportunities and performing needs assessments. We have also significantly expanded our work in Franklin County over the past year. Like many other companies, we switched to remote work due to the pandemic. The team has found its rhythm working remotely and appreciate the flexibility it has offered, although we miss the team setting an office provides, we plan to continue with this arrangement for the foreseeable future and have established a new permanent mailing address at our P.O. box as well as new company phone numbers. Hunter Gomez Senior Project Manager Hunter continues to play a valuable role on the PCI team as one of our lead Project Managers. His diligent work with the Maple Run projects has led to the successful completion of multiple projects, including the new BFA St. Albans connector. Hunter has developed an excellent system for accurate budget estimates, enhancing one of our primary services. |

Natty Jamison Associate Project Manager Over the past year, Natty has transitioned from project coordinator to a hybrid project management / business management role. Natty has continued leading PCI’s Progress Inspection services, and worked closely with Audrey to help create a solid foundation as they adjust to their new role. Natty now serves as Vice-President of the Vermont chapter of the Construction Specifications institute. In the spirit of PCI’s efforts to continually improve our client services, Natty recently attended a Davis-Bacon webinar, where representatives from Housing and Urban Development went over the ins and outs of this complex requirement for federally funded construction work. |

Audrey Clayton Project Coordinator PCI welcomed Audrey to the team as our new Project Coordinator in February. Audrey has helped expand our skillset and create a more refined structure to our organizational management processes. With the addition of Audrey, we are excited to take on a larger project capacity with more hands on deck. Audrey also attended a Davis-Bacon training alongside Natty to ensure that our team has a well-rounded understanding of this requirement. |

Kelly Lyon Outreach Coordinator Kelly was new to the PCI team as our summer Marketing Intern starting in March 2020. After success in that role, Kelly has stayed on as Outreach Coordinator to continue with the progress she has made with PCI’s outreach. Kelly is wrapping up her Junior year at Quinnipiac University. She was recently inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the Communications Honor Society of the National Communications Association. Additionally, she was accepted into an accelerated Master’s program and elected President of Quinnipiac’s Star Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. |

Town of St. Albans Town Hall PCI is currently serving as the Municipal Project Manager for the construction of the new Town of Saint Albans’ Town Hall in the bay area of Lake Champlain. Our Senior Project Manager, Hunter Gomez, serves as lead on this project and also performed cost estimating services. This project will provide Town employees with a modern and expanded facility, which will be more accessible to all. Additionally, this town hall will serve as a community space for the Town of Saint Albans to enjoy. |

Woodland Station PCI is performing progress inspections for the renovation of a large apartment complex in Manchester, and two smaller apartment buildings in Bennington, Vermont. Our Associate Project Manager, Natty Jamison, has been performing the monthly site visits and report writing. This project is one in a continued relationship between PCI and VHFA, and we are proud to have a role in helping to develop affordable housing across Vermont. |

Infrastructure Plan Impact on Capital Projects President Biden has recently proposed his $2 trillion infrastructure plan. This plan would improve our transit, electric, and sewer systems. As well as modernize schools, hospitals, and government buildings in addition to improving residential infrastructure. This initiative would also create thousands of jobs and is certainly good for business in the AEC world. We would look forward to the exciting capital projects that this funding could enable. Biden has referred to this plan as an investment in America that will create the most resilient and innovative economy in the world. The spending plan is to last over the span of 8 years and it would be interesting to see how the infrastructure in our communities could change during that time. This investment could restart numerous federally funded projects that have been put on pause for years. |
