WORKSHOPS + CLASSES @ LFC The Food Club hosts classes year 'round on topics like nutrition, health, cooking, gardening and financial literacy. We're kicking off 2019 with our "Make A Healthy Change" series to help folks get on target with their New Year's goals. Did you know? Most LFC workshops and classes are open to community members as well as Food Club members, although LFC members do receive priority if class registration is full. Those who are not LFC members *may* be asked for a donation, depending on the class. This information will be included in the class descriptions. | | |

NEW REQUIREMENTS Beginning this month, all new and renewing LFC members will be asked complete a new application. They will also be required to provide documentation for all adults to verify income eligibility. The income guidelines, membership fees and all other rules will remain the same. The changes are being implemented to ensure those most in need are able to receive the benefits of the Food Club membership. Since the opening in October 2017, membership levels have soared far beyond the original projections, so this is a way to check on eligibility and assist in planning for future budgets. **Volunteers ** If you missed the training on the new procedures in December, please speak to a staff member to review. |

GOOD NEWS! Keep an eye on the Ludington Daily News, which will be featuring voices from Lakeshore Food Club in a monthly column! We're excited for this new partnership to help spread the LFC love. |

It’s the time of year to make resolutions! As 2019 gets underway let’s consider making these resolutions as Food Club volunteers….. - Be the best informed volunteer you can. Attend one refresher class. Let the staff know of any training needs you feel need to be addressed.
- Conquer the new volunteer sign in system!
- Schedule volunteer time slots online.
- Make sure all members are fully briefed on the Food Club program and important dates each time they visit the Food Club.
- Volunteer for a special Food Club fundraising or community event.
- Spread the word about the Food Club to family and friends – help recruit new volunteers and/or donors.
