The Lakeshore Food Club has teamed up with the Mason County Garden Club to launch its first annual Grow A Row campaign which encourages home gardeners to set aside a row of their vegetables and donate the surplus to individuals and families in Mason County experiencing food insecurity.

LHS Dinner Kit Project

 

Ludington High School advanced food science classes collaborated with the Lakeshore Food Club to bring meal ideas to LFC through project based learning – sort of Food Network's Chopped meets Blue Apron meal kits. For their final exams, students worked in teams with predetermined food items to create nutritional recipes for members of the Food Club.

Ludington Bay Gives to Lakeshore Food Club

 

Ludington Bay celebrated its one-year anniversary May 18-19 with live music, giveaways, food/beer specials and commemorative pint glasses.  Proceeds from the pint glasses were donated to the Food Club along with a 100% match from LBBC for a total donation of $2,143!!!!  Huge thanks to everyone who purchased a pint glass and to Ludington Bay for this generous gift.  It was an honor to be a part of your celebration.

19th Annual Ludington Lake Jump Splashing Success

 

Despite the frigid 37-degree water temperatures nearly 100 brave jumpers plunged into Lake Michigan for the 19th Annual Ludington Lake Jump which took place at Stearns Park Beach.  This year, along with record crowds, the event raised $85,390 for the Lakeshore Food Club!

Taste of the Lakeshore

 

The Food Club will be featured at Taste of the Lakeshore on June 14th at the Grayston Event Center along with over 30 of the areas finest culinary creations, restaurants, wineries & breweries.  Get your tickets now... a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Food Club!
