Hello from Kent and welcome to all my new subscribers, many of whom I was delighted to meet at Rootstech… more of which later!

The Wicked Trade

The latest book (#7 in the series) has been selling well and has received very positive reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Thank you to all who have kindly taken the time to do this – it is much appreciated. After a short delay, the story is now available in paperback, both by itself and as a combination with The Suffragette’s Secret, the short story which preceded it.

The Suffragette’s Secret

As you will no doubt be aware, this year marks the centenary of women receiving the right to vote (with certain caveats). In conjunction with this milestone, Amazon.co.uk will be running my short story, The Suffragette’s Secret on promotion from 12th March until 24th April for 99p. YouTube Channel

I have now started up a channel on YouTube. So far I have added two interviews from Rootstech, but more content will be added over the coming weeks. I will also add my responses to the Q&A Facebook post there shortly. Click here to subscribe to the channel.

Goodreads competition

There’s still time to enter my Goodreads competition, whereby 100 free Kindle downloads of Hiding the Past are available for free (US readers only, I’m afraid). All you need to is visit this page to register your interest. If you already have this book, please share the link with friends and family who might like to start the series.

Events

I will be attending several family history events this year, where signed / personalised copies of my books will be available. The full listings will be updated on my Goodreads page / Facebook page and Amazon Author page. Those confirmed so far are:

19th May – Chesterfield & District Family History Society

23rd June – Family History Show, York

22nd September – Family History Show, London

It would be great to meet you at some of these events!

Rootstech

So, as I mentioned in the previous newsletter, this year I attended Rootstech for the first time. For people unfamiliar with the event, it is held in Salt Lake City, Utah and is the largest genealogy conference in the world. Tens of thousands of people passed through the doors, attending classes, lectures and visiting the stands in the Expo Hall, which was where I had a booth selling copies of my books. To say that I was rushed off my feet would be an understatement! It was really fantastic to get to meet so many people who have enjoyed the series and also to engage with new followers! By the end of the four days I had sold out entirely of Hiding the Past, The Lost Ancestor, and The Orange Lilies. Although I spent most of my time land-locked in the booth, I did get to slip out and meet some of the big names in genealogy, many of whom have supported me and my books for some time. All in all, it was a fantastic experience. Click here to see some of the photographs from the conference.

For those who are interested, there is a round-up of the event on the Rootstech website. I am planning on attending again next year – this time with more books! Hopefully I will see more of you there!

That’s all for the moment from me!

Best wishes to you all,

Nathan
