River pirates, mermaids, green witches, borgs, tinkers, feral folk and trash trolls have travelled through the Greenwood forest this summer, as children have unleashed their wild spirits and remembered their place in the "family of things". They've been busy sneaking, crafting, carving, fencing, juggling, sculpting, listening to plants, shooting bows and arrows, singing, improv acting, balancing, splashing, learning, rafting, camouflaging, dreaming and exploring within the wild web of relationships.
Reflecting back on all of the adventures and precious moments in this summers' camps, it's hard for me not to tear up. It has been truly incredible watching each child come alive, unfold their creative brilliance, and settle into the rhythms and ways of the forest. I give thanks for each moment when I saw a camper, staff or apprentice completely lose themselves in the absolute joy of being alive on this miraculous Earth. I also give thanks to all of the parents who have sent your remarkable children to journey with us in the forest. This has been a summer I will never forget.
