Our Biweekly Newsletter - 9 September 2016 Check out what we've been up to so far this month & what's coming up next! |

Thank you for visiting the shop and for bringing along your friends! |

We don't know if you've noticed - and really, why would you? You have lives to live! - but about 2 weeks ago, we reached a total of 5 tons of donated fabric, sewing machines, yarn and all (we mean ALL) the notions that go along with. We've been tracking (as carefully as possible) the poundage of donations as you've brought materials in, and yes. We have reached a total of 5 tons! By the time you read this, we will actually be well on our way to 5.5 tons. Look at what you've helped us accomplish! Your donations keep all of these items from being just trash, and our shoppers and students are able to turn much of it into amazing, creative projects. |
Now for the other side of that 5-ton coin: We are running out of storage room. If you have a large donation you'd like to make, before you bring your items in, please give us a call at 585-328-2642 or email info@sewgreenrochester.org. Chances are, we will say, "Yes, come on over." But for the time-being, we are putting a hold on accepting large donations that are not pre-scheduled with us. Thank you for understanding and for bearing with us. In the meantime, shop! Someone might have donated just the item you've been looking for, and if so, we are selling it at a very low cost. Come on down to Arnett Boulevard and see what's in store for your next project! |

Stop by the shop this Saturday (September 10) and next (September 17), and check out the sewing machines we have for sale. We have some excellent machines ready to sew, a few of which are pictured above and below. They are at rock-bottom prices - most at $25 or less. Help us clear out some of our inventory before the summer ends, and add one of these to your own fleet of sewing machines! |

Surprise Saturday Specials! Do you love surprises? The good ones? We do. And we've got good surprises for you! Every Saturday at our store, shoppers are treated to a surprise special. It might be one free book with every purchase. It might be a free small scrappy bag. It might be 5 free sewing patterns, or a free zipper, or a free pair of knitting needles. We don't know. It's a surprise! Come, shop and see! |

We have two winners! Guesses ranged from 100 to 1,572. We counted 815 buttons of all shapes and sizes in our tightly packed jar. The closest guess without going over was 800 by one of our weekly volunteers from Holy Childhood. She won our $20 gift certificate. The 2nd closest guess was 782, and we know our 19th Ward neighbor, Tom Bohrer, will stop by soon to fill his free $5 scrappy bag. Thanks for playing along and guessing! |

Coming in October... Costume Workshops and a Kids' Sewing Club on Saturdays. Also, look for a chance to work with beautiful Mara Hoffman fabrics at our Serger 101/201 classes on October 4. |
Plus we will be offering two new classes: Knit a Hat or Headband, and Polar Fleece Hats and Mittens. Come help us use up some of our bright fleeces, and wintry warm yarns! |
