October 2022

HELLO RESIDENTS AND VISITORS!

September was yet another lovely month here at Woodfield! We had many fun, new activities for our residents, special guests, and some stormy, cool, amazing weather. It's our favorite home away from home!

Sadly, October brings the end of our 2022 season. We'll miss everyone over the winter months, but we can't let you go without a little more fun. Read on for a few special features and other news!

There are currently 24 vacation home sites available, and 4 new vacation homes that recently arrived on site that are available for quick move in! Right now, those who join us before the 2022 season is over can choose a $10,000 INSTANT REBATE or FREE furniture package and consult with our professional interior designer (see her amazing work below). A HEARTFELT THANKS ❤️

Woodfield is full of good neighbors and even better friends. From taking care of each other in times of need, to pitching in to make events and activities happen around here - you are the BEST!

THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of our residents who have stepped up to make our community great. "Many hands make light work," was always a great mantra, and our community is a great example of that. With all of the wonderful activities being organized, it helps to have people willing to share in the work involved. All of us at Woodfield appreciate your consistent help and devotion to make our little neighborhood special.

A Special Note From John Bishop:

Dear Woodfield Community,

I would like to say a tremendous thank you to everyone who has been so kind, caring, and understanding to my wife Carolyn.
Having advanced dementia is an extremely hard thing for her to deal with.

The love and kindness shown by so many people here at Woodfield have made our life so special! There have been so many individuals who have taken the time to say nice things to her, and make her feel loved.

People taking the time to take her for walks, watching her while I golf, or play poker. People taking the time to walk Parker and play table games even though she struggles to remember.

Carolyn may not be able to remember all the incredible gifts from the heart, but they have happened over and over in the Woodfield community.

As my hero (my dad) used to say, "God would be proud."

Thanks,

John

CHOCOLATE CRUNCH RECIPE

BEHOLD! The much-requested recipe for the Chocolate Crunch from the Parade of Homes Event. Thank you for sharing!

  • 2 sticks of butter (1 Cup)

  • 1 Cup light brown sugar

  • Saltine, Krispy or Zesta Crackers

  • 12oz. chocolate chips

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Crushed walnuts

Place individual crackers end to end to cover a foil-lined jelly roll pan or cookie sheet. Boil butter and sugar 3 minutes stirring constantly. Mix in vanilla. Pour over crackers. Bake at 400 degrees for 7 minutes. Take out of the over and pour chocolate chips over the top. Turn oven off and place pan back in the oven until the chocolate chips melt (1 minute at most). Spread evenly over the top. Top with crushed walnuts. Let cool, then put in freezer for 2-3 hours. Break into pieces and enjoy!
