Major Brands Turn KBR Plastic into New Products |
Did you know that Kay Blada's plastic might be in your Ralph Lauren tshirt or your Aerie yoga pants? Kay Blada sells a majority of the plastic collected from the streets of Hinche to several Haitian recycling companies in Port-au-Prince. These three companies all sell plastic to Thread, an organization that turns plastic into fabric for new products. Thread works with many name-brands that you probably recognize, and Haitian plastic is incorporated into products from these brands... Puma Ralph Lauren HP Aerie Marmot Timberland Day Owl Reebok |

Fall Interns Kay Blada is searching for Fall interns to help with marketing, lesson plans for the education program, and grant writing. Due to our tight budget, internships are unpaid, but are flexible and offer course credit - as well as a chance to work hands-on with a non-profit start-up. Due to Corona, it has become harder and harder for college students to find internships. If you know someone who may be interested, please share our information. Thank you! | | |

Help Kay Blada Get through COVID-19 Due to coronavirus, Kay Blada has experienced significant financial hardship, mainly due to rising costs of supplies, inability to transport plastic to buyers in Port-au-Prince, and a decrease in donations. As a result, we're working with about half the budget of last year. However, not a single staff member has been laid off during this time. To continue supporting our staff, the people of Hinche, and to fulfill our year-end goals, we ask anyone who can to consider donating. |
