Youth Groups Return

Over the past month we have been welcoming some of our groups back. There are a few new procedures in place and limits on numbers but the overwhelming feeling of being back in our youth centre together makes it all worth while.

Check out one of our Young Members experience of COVID 19 by clicking on the link below.

A Youth Perspective

Moving Schools Resource

Transitioning from primary to secondary school is daunting in the most normal of times, but 2020 has proved to be anything but normal.

StepUp.ie is a website designed to get young people more ready for the experience of second level.

The site is made with young people in mind but parents will also discover valuable information to help them support their children making the move.

Mental Health Packs

With all the stress and uncertainty around COVID 19, we put together a a collection of items in a mental health pack which was then distributed out to our young people.

With the help from members of Meath Comhairle na nÓg and support from Meath County Council and CYPSC Meath, the packs will enable positive wellbeing and resilience among our young members.

AGM 2020

On July 16th we held our AGM online via Zoom. We were delighted with the attendance and patience of everyone and the hard work from all involved to make it happen.

Congratulations to Carlanstown on being Club of the Year and to Danielle who received the Young Person of the Year award.

LGBTI+ Funding

On Friday, July 17th, we attended the launch of the LGBTI+ Community Services Fund 2020 in Outcomers in Dundalk, Louth.

It was exciting to hear of funding to services like ours, supporting LGBTI+ young people in their communities. We were delighted to see the cooperation between both departments with Ministers Helen McEntee and Roderic O'Gorman.

Looking forward to working with them in the future.
