Please find below the letter I've sent to Representatives. I invite you to please send your own. Feel free to Copy & Paste my letter, change it a little to fit you & send it on.

Good Morning,

I am Cassie Moats owner of Mountaineer Outfitters LLC just outside of Grand Junction, CO. Hunting is a way of life for our family. Its a food source & how we support our family financially

I am writing to OPPOSE SB22-031 to Prohibit Hunting Bobcat Lynx And Mountain Lion. It’s disheartening to see Anti-Hunters slowly pecking away at ALL hunting rights. After this what’s next? Our heritage and culture will be completely destroyed, then what?

I just received an e-mail this morning stating the Bookcliff’s deer heard is at historically low levels & they will be lowering that population objective to 5,000 - 8,000 deer. The previous herd management plan was 10,000 — 12,000 deer of which they’v been unable to reach. https://www.montrosepress.com/free_access/cpw-seeks-public-comment-on-herd-management-plans-near-grand-junction-and-rifle/article_d5116528-7d7a-11ec-b7ed-e734a80f599b.html  Studies conducted on the front range suggests If every adult lion is killing around one mule deer per week, that would mean that 3,800 mountain lions killing one deer per week would result in 197,600 deer deaths annually in Colorado. If 4,400 lions are hunting, that number increases to 228,800 deer. (https://www.outtherecolorado.com/news/the-number-of-deer-mountain-lions-kill-each-year-in-colorado-will-shock-you/article_67d7a672-5203-11ec-954e-6b1ccb99822e.html)

What's this mean for Colorado? In total, the state made $96,269,926 on the hunting licenses from 2018 to 2019, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife. If the predator (mountain lion, bobcat, lynx, WOLF) populations continue to increase, the number of deer will continue to decrease causing many more issues.

These species should be managed just as all other. Do you remember when the Settlers came over to the US and robbed the Native Americans of their land, heritage, etc.? That is how it feels to be a hunter constantly fighting for our rights to hunt. This is our heritage and a way of life. In my home we LIVE off of wild game. You will rarely find store bought meat aside from chicken in our home. Have you ever ate a Mountain Lion? It's actually DELICIOUS. It’s a white meat & I would describe it as a good mixture between chicken & pork.

I love all of these species and I wish that they will forever remain on the landscape however I believe they should be hunted and regulated. Please, I am asking you to oppose SB22-031 to Prohibit Hunting Bobcat Lynx And Mountain Lion.
