Our offerings this week are still heavy on a wide variety of greens. So load up on salads and get ready to top everything from pizzas, pastas, tacos, and rice bowls with greens, greens, and more greens. If you didn't get a chance to reserve your CSA subscription this season, you can buy individual boxes weekly on our website for pickup at farmers' markets or on the farm.
And don't forget, you can place your pre-orders on our website starting every Thursday evening for pickup the following week at farmer's markets and on-farm. Deadline to place your orders is Sunday
This weekend we're getting ready to plant another succession of greens, roots and alluviums which means: bed preparation! Here is Bryan using a broadfork. This farm implement is key to a regenerative, no-till farming practice. It aerates the soil without disturbing the microbial life. Meaning: better, bigger vegetables!
Say hello to our chickens. We're expecting that they will start laying eggs any day now. If they don't, Bryan might start threatening to eat one ... here chicky chicky!
A row of pumpkin bordered by two rows of dried corn, this is our modified "milpa." Milpa is a Mexican style of companion planting. Behind this we will be planting a more traditional milpa which ends up looking like a delicious jungle.
This week we built out our wash station. It's mobile, efficient and just the way we like it. Bryan tends to change his mind frequently as he is constantly trying to improve efficiencies. So, dry racks on wheels allow us to adapt and improve easily.
Our culinary lavender ready for butters, teas, syrups and more.
A few weeks ago we planted some purple bravo radish. The plants bolted early so we let them go to flower resulting in this absolutely delicious edible radish flower that we've been sprinkling on everything from salads to stir frys.
