Legislative Updates

New Medication? Ask your doctor about any New Medication. Information is power when it comes to your health. The next time you get a new prescription, ask:

The WSSRA Legislative Committee has been communicating weekly by conference call. They then met in Olympia on Feb. 3-4. Mary Perkins and Sue Kane represented our district. They met with all of our legislators and discussed the following WSSRA TOP 2020 priority: Fund a 3% COLA for TRS 1 & PERS 1 Retirees

Each Legislator was asked these question:

1. What is your level of support for a Plan 1 COLA?

2. Will you speak in favor of a Plan 1 COLA in your caucus and on The Floor?

3. Would you be will to a "Legislative Champion" on senior issues?

Overall, all of our legislators were very supportive of the COLA.

If receiving a COLA/Health Benefit is important to you, be ready to contact your legislators when we call on you. If you have questions, please call:

Mary Perkins: 884-7671

Denise Perkins: 741-0362
