Announcements Congratulations to Prof. Jamal Lewis and his lab on their R01! Dr. Jamal Lewis recently received his first R01 grant from the NIH for the project titled, "Particulate-based in vivo modulation for immunotherapy of rheumatoid arthritis". Prof. Lewis said that “the studies funded by this grant will allow us to demonstrate that our biomaterial system has potential to significantly improve on current clinical options for RA therapy. This award gives me, as well as my lab, a huge confidence boost and signals that our work is considered to be important and possibly impactful for human health." We congratulate the Lewis Lab and look forward to the outcomes of this exciting work! Congratulations to Dr. Gerard Arino Estrada on his R21! Dr. Gerard Arino-Estrada was recently awarded the Trailblazer R21 Award from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). He is currently a member of Dr. Simon Cherry’s group and will work together with Dr. Saif Islam, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Chair, to development silicon photodetectors with tapered-hole microstructures to improve the image quality in positron emission tomography (PET) and allow for earlier diagnosis of diseases and more efficient treatments. Congratulations, we're excited to see what comes out of this collaborative work! |
