Brilliant Bomber

Hello all you charming subscribers and welcome to my February newsletter. I was thrilled to hear you are loving the velvet Zadie Jumpsuit I shared last month. It has already attended a Christmas party, two birthdays (including my own), a wedding, Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day celebrations. The adjustable wrap certainly came in handy for this Valentine's afternoon tea :)

Embroidered Bomber Jacket

This month I am sharing my latest completed project, the New Look 6545 Bomber / Flight Jacket, made during a weekend workshop at the Bristol School of Sewing and Textiles. I used a pretty embroidered chambray which had the perfect mix of softness and structure, and I love the feminine look. Click below to read my full review.

Work in progress

Earlier this month I attended a workshop with Claire Tyler to make the Kelly Anorak by Closet Core Patterns. Being a complex project for me, having the guidance was incredibly helpful, and I never need much of an excuse for a mini trip away to indulge in sewing.

I used Merchant & Mills dry oilskin in yellow, with a brushed cotton lining and silver hardware. The pattern has some really lovely details. I'll be sharing the finished project next month, one I am super proud of :)
