As this remarkable year draws to a close, I hope you're enjoying precious moments with your loved ones. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your involvement in our 2023 journey. This year has been a harmonious blend of diligence, music, and extraordinary accomplishments I'm eager to share with you.

January 2023 kicked off with our students' stellar performances at the Silicon Valley Music Competition. Lina Hong achieved an impressive 3rd place in the Elementary Group, while Christina (Yeeun) Hong secured a distinguished 2nd place in the Middle Group.

Our February recital was a delightful showcase of our students' evolving musical talents.

In May, we celebrated Christina Hong's acceptance into the prestigious San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Program, a testament to her dedication and skill.

August was a milestone month with Hanjoon Lee, Sherlynn Jin, and Christina (Yeeun) Hong joining the Hope Box and Kamsa Orchestras, where they had the honor of sharing the stage with the famously renowned Soprano Sumi Jo.

More achievements, Lina demonstrated a leadership role as concertmaster at the Golden State Youth Orchestra's summer camp and she was appointed Assistant Concertmaster for the 2023-2024 GSYO Camerata Orchestra.

Sherlynn advanced to the Associate Orchestra of the California Youth Symphony!

Additional joy came in December as Eunseo Nam, Hwanseo Chu, Pauline Kang, Sherlynn Jin, Hanjoon Lee, and Christina Hong were selected for the 2023 California Orchestra Directors Association December Honor Orchestra.

Our December winter recital, despite its challenges, was a resounding success, showcasing our students' hard-earned prowess.

To all our current students, your remarkable progress and dedication were vividly apparent in the December recital.

We warmly welcome new members to our musical family: Erica Ding, Jihyo Bae, Sophia Zhou He, Ethan Zang, Zoey Ziyi Bi, Silas McBee, and Yunhoi Koo. Your addition has already enriched our community.

Moreover, Pauline Kang, Sherlynn Jin, and Hanjoon Lee have been accepted into the prestigious 2024 High School All-State Orchestra.

Special thanks to Kee Hong, Lina's father, for his exceptional photography capturing our students' artistic journey.

We're also grateful to Dr. Bogum Park, a talented musician and dear friend, who joined us in March 2023 as a collaborative pianist. She's now a key part of the SFCM Pre-College, iSing Silicon Valley, and recently Stanford University.

As 2023 concludes, we look ahead to a year filled with new opportunities and adventures. Wishing you all a holiday season brimming with joy, laughter, and music. Here's to health, happiness, and continued musical passion and growth.
