It's been a busy start to this new academic year with new projects starting, strengthening in numbers, and seeing our hard work recognised! |

🌺 We're Officially Published Authors 🌺 |
Our Stronger Together Leaders worked on co-authoring the chapter 'Migrant women resisting borders through participatory arts' for Routledge's UK Borderscapes: Sites of Enforcement and Resistance, which was published this month. You can find the book here. It was a great pleasure and honour to work on this publication! |

💞 Lewisham & Greenwich Be Well Hubs 💞 |
As part of Lewisham and Greenwich Be Well Hubs, our Stronger Together Leaders met with all the other wonderful people involved to identify the issues we want to take action on, considering what will be worthwhile and winnable. For sure, we would like to get commitments from healthcare decision makers at the upcoming South London Listens Assembly in November. |
Next time we are meeting with even more hubs from the whole of South London to have even more democratic discussions, negotiations and planning. |

We are so proud of the work we have been doing to improve Temporary Accommodation and it was amazing to celebrate with the other grantees of Trust for London's Better TA for Londoners initiative. We learnt about each others' work, discussed important issues, shared research findings and reminded ourselves of why stable, safe & healthy accommodation is important. It was an emotional, honest, inspiring and encouraging day. |

☀️ Migrant Connections Festival 2023 ☀️ |
What lights you way? That was our question for the day. A huge thank you to Migrant Connections for inviting us to showcase our documentary Light The Way and share the leadership journey of our Stronger Together team and how we are creating change together. It was a day full of sunshine, music, peace, inspiration and solidarity, giving us so much hope. |

🌼 Lewisham & Greenwich Citizens Away Day 🌼 |
Our alliance of Greenwich and Lewisham Citizens had a very encouraging meeting at the National Maritime Museum earlier this month. We looked at the political opportunities we’ll be planning around this year, like the London mayoral and general elections, as well as other opportunities to influence NHS policy in South East London. |
Very excited for our Director, Laura Marziale along with the wonderful Sophie Gregory, Janet Emmanuel and Lucie Vyhnálková, to be co-chairing the alliance! |

Thanks to Greenwich Mental Health Hub we started Creativity for Wellbeing, a project for migrant women to get together to share creative skills, improve wellbeing and find out more about relevant local services. We are still looking for more migrant women to join this group on a Wednesday at Plumcroft Primary School, 9-11am. If you know anyone who would benefit from these sessions, or to find out more, please email Laura at info@theground.org.uk |
