Your Morning Routine

What came first, the coffee or the breakfast?

Question:

Where does your energy come from to start your day?

Answers:

Caffeine -> Keep reading!

Nutrients -> A!

Protein and Fat -> A+!

If I had to bet I’d say that you feel groggy when you wake up. If you’re like most people you when your morning alarm goes off, you need help becoming a functioning human again, or human period!

So you go straight for the coffee maker, saving breakfast for later.

Here’s the problem. Fat and protein, not caffeine is what provides sustainable energy!

Caffeine on an empty stomach raises the stress hormones, cortisol and adrenaline, increases the heart-rate and blood pressure, and puts extra strain on the liver.

When you drink caffeine alone, you're stepping onto a roller coaster, which will continuously climb and nose diving throughout the rest of your day.

BUT drinking caffeine after you've eaten buffers the hormone and blood sugar raising effects of caffeine, lessening the side effects listed below.

Quiz Time!

Do you experience any of the following?

Anxious thoughts

Nervousness

Restlessness

Shakiness

Dizziness

Weakness

Dehydration

Trouble falling asleep

Chronic headaches

Digestive issues

Panic attacks

Fast or irregular heartbeat

Heartburn &/or reflux

High blood pressure

If so, you could be feeling the effects of caffeine!

Too Long, Didn't Read

Drinking coffee AFTER breakfast completely changes caffeines effect on your body.

Instead of going straight to the coffee maker tomorrow morning, try this:

Wait to drink coffee until after you've finished breakfast

Bonus Goal:

Eat protein within 2 hours of waking

This will give your body the long burning energy it needs to make it through the day.
