As darkness of the night hours continue to lengthen, and COVID 19 keeps us from attending many public events – Join me on an adventure: Let's turn our focus to Stepping Into the Mystical & Magical Journey of Our Dream State.
Making your bedroom conducive to rest and rejuvenation is the foundation to a restful sleep experience; therefore to benefit from a sleep state of REM. We dream when we are in the REM state. Most of us spend as much time in REM state, as individuals’ attending the University for a Masters Degree. Why not tap into the benefits of dreaming?
An ideal sleep area How do you use your bedroom? Is your bed used as a Desk? Work area? Your sleep routine can have profound effects are your quality of sleep. Your bedroom should be your sanctuary to clear your mind and rejuvenate. If your bedroom serves as a multifunction room as in a studio or efficiency apartment, you may need to make adjustments. You will need to separate the bed with furniture such as: bookshelf, chair or couch. You may be able to put up some curtains or a decorative room divider. Consider setting up a routine that when retiring, you can pivot to a state of calm and relaxation when lying on the bed. You may need to read or watch TV in a chair or coach and retire for the night only when you are prepared to fall asleep. As you relax for sleep pivot from your daily review to what brought you joy or helped you feel content. Focus on gratitude for those green lights while traveling, the person who held the door open, the sun that felt so good on your skin or the rain that nourished all. Connecting with gratitude helps calm and release the struggles and challenges of the day.
