The recent project activities: Added Value for Local Democracy

Local democracy: the practice of a developed society

The closing conference "Local democracy- ideal or practice" of the project "CSOs for making Local Democracy Work" was held on the 22nd of January 2020 in Skopje.More than 70 representatives of civil society organizations and local self-government had the opportunity to get acquainted with the implemented activities of the project, as well as their results and achievements.

Initiative for creation of a Network for Local Democracy

The partners and the sub-grantist of the project "CSOs for making local democracy work" meet on the 15th of January 2020 in Skopje. During the meeting the representatives from the 12 partner organizations had the opportunity to present the results of their projects, their positive experiences and to evaluate the implemented activities within the project.

The last meeting of the project partners was held

The last meeting of the project partners team was held in Veles on 10 January 2020. In the meeting were discussed the results and the implementation of the activities in the past 36 months. The project partners shared the experiences of the implementation of the three year project and the challenges they faced during its implementation.

Training on Tools for Local Democracy and Participatory Budgeting

On December 23 and 24, 2019, training titled ,,Tools for Local Democracy and Participatory Budgeting" was held in Ohrid. This training was aimed to strengthening the capacities of municipalities and CSOs, mutual exchange of perceptions on the role of both parties in the practice of local democracy, as well as intensifying mutual cooperation.

Forums in Kavadarci and Debar

The Association of Financial Workers of Local Governments in cooperation with the European Association for Local Democracy (ALDA) - Skopje and the European Movement organized two forums on the topic: "Financial and Non-Financial Support to Civil Society Organizations by Local Authorities" in Kavadarci and Debar.

Training on Project cycle management and EU funds organized in Skopje

On December 16th and 17th in Skopje the training "Project Cycle Management and EU funds" aimed at strengthening the capacity of organizations and municipalities was held. The participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the different aspects needed by organizations and municipalities when applying and implementing projects.

Ohrid and the Southwest region as important factors in the European integration process

The European Movement in the Republic of North Macedonia (EM-MK) on 10.12.2019 in Ohrid organized a panel discussion on the topic "Euro-integration processes in the development perspectives of the Municipality of Ohrid and the South-west planning region: Tourism and cultural heritage as important factors in the Euro integration process".

The project "CSOs for making local democracy work" is financed by the European Union through the IPA programme for civil society facility and media. The project is implemented by the European Association for Local Democracy - ALDA Skopje, The Association of financial workers of local governments and public enterprises, and the European Movement.
