FREE RANGE | GRASS RAISED & FINISHED | RESPECTFULLY RAISED BEEF

Life on the Ranch

Exciting news: We are continuing our quest to follow in the steps of famous naturalist, Aldo Leopold and we partnered with Texas Parks and Wildlife to reintroduce native grass and forb species via the Pastures for Upland Birds Program.
We will keep our cattle herd out of this pasture for a time to allow these native plants to grow and mature. As this pasture matures, we hope to occasionally graze it and selectively cut and bale prairie hay for our cattle. Our native plant prairie hay will be fed to our cattle herd during winter months with the hope of spreading and establishing those native seeds throughout 3H Ranch.

We are also working with a Texas university specializing in native plant seed production to establish a farm area on 3H Ranch for their use to produce native plant seed. Once their seed is produced, they will sell it to commercial seed companies with the hope of reestablishing geographic specific native seed for planting in Texas. More information on this relationship  will be in a future 3H Newsletter.

Summertime Grillin'

Lori is always cooking up new creations on the ranch using our beef.

This is a new recipe for grilled beef cutlets (can also use ground beef as well) to make the perfect light yet filling dish for the summer.

Ingredients:

Hamburger patty or beef cutlet, roasted vegetables, grilled peppers and dirty rice.

All repurposed from the refrigerator using fresh produce, saving time and money!

Pro tip: if bowls aren't your thing, put in-between two fresh slices of bread.

Enjoy!

Blessings to you and yours!
