Thanks for checking out my July newsletter! We love summer, it’s perfect for being outside…and better for reading than for writing. As always, I’ll keep it brief, and as always, feel free to share (but tell them to sign up for their own copy so they get the freebies that occasionally go out). Here’s my Linktree which has the links to my published pieces, my website, and signing up for the newsletter. |

I’m running a Kickstarter fundraiser this month to be able to publish Growing Up As Fairies as a printed book. Sure some of the funds go towards the actual printing and mailing, but a good chunk goes to the illustrations. That is a big letdown of the Kindle Vella platform that we can’t have images included yet. On the other hand, I can’t illustrate so I need to hire one regardless. Please, please, please help me achieve this dream! Support the project here! |

Have you found the “early access” feature on Amazon for book clubs? The first book I chose for my book club to read is Winter’s Myths by Gage Greenwood. This is available as a Kindle Vella but also Kindle Unlimited or soft and hardcover. He’s a cool guy and it’s a good book. I’m only a few chapters in, but I would love to discuss it with other people. Come join me, and you can suggest books you want us to read next. There is now a website for www.authorrachelroy.com. But it is completely under construction. It will be replacing my wix hosted site soon.

The last weekend of June, I released a new homesteading vella. This is a collection of recipes that we have used for years. They are tried and true by our family of six. There are some days that I hate to cook dinner, but these recipes are delicious, filling, and pretty easy to make. Some of them are even perfect for doubling and freezing for an even easier meal on some other day.

I created this quiz to see which character in Parallel Worlds you are most like. I got Arichel when I took the quiz. My husband got Adovey. Who are you most similar to? Each member of the Royal Court has their quirks, but they are also extremely good at what they do and amazingly loyal.

I have also partnered with some other fantastic authors to share our children’s books between our newsletters. Now I won’t ever share your email without your permission, but I am including the link here so that you may check out the free book they are offering and sign up with them if you like. This link is to another promotion that also has free children’s books. Finally, this link and this link lead to very steamy free romance stories.

For a chance to win an Amazon gift card (probably $5 and probably digital) email me back with these four questions answered: Who is your favorite author? What is it in particular that you like about their writing? What is your favorite genre (type of book)? What is your favorite name?
Feel free to shout me out on social media about this, or email me:

The Best Ways to Help An Author |
|
|
There are two amazing ways you can help an author. One way is pretty self-explanatory and expected - buy their book(s) and preferably read it too. But the second might surprise you - write a review. Sharing about the book is free for you but will make the author so happy that they might cry and hug you. Seriously though, the marketing is far harder for many authors than the writing or the editing. Trust me when I say it is ridiculously time consuming.
