BAYCS AND GREENBELT ALLIANCE IS HOSTING AN ART CONTEST! With Greenbelt alliance, we are hosting an art contest for high schoolers in the bay area to showcase nature based solutions to climate change. Greenbelt is looking for artwork that addresses a specific environmental challenge in a creative way. There will be prizes available for the top winners and a chance for the art to be displayed in a gallery! WANT TO HELP THE WILD FLOWER POPULATION IN SF? AND ENJOY SKATING? Join us to shake some seeds on Saturday, March 19 to spread wildflowers across SF’s less landscaped, overly industrialized regions, such as the Bayview. BAYCS will be holding a wildflower shaking event in early to mid-March; join us to help spread a bit of nature across the city, with an added bonus of volunteer hours and meeting other youth with an interest in climate action! REMEMBER THE BAY AREA SCIENCE FESTIVAL? The Bay Area Science Festival is coming to you in April! From April 22-30, you can volunteer your time helping with distribution, registration, set up/clean up, and information booths. RALLY IN CONTRA COSTA TO END OIL DRILLING Youth vs Apocalypse is partnering with the Sunflower Alliance and Sustainable Contra Costa to hold a climate rally to stop the expansion of fossil fuel drilling. It will be held at the Antioch community center at 1 pm on March 12th. The rally will feature a range of exciting speakers, music, art, entertainment, an informational fair, and a supervised, fenced-in playground for young children. Put on your walking shoes and wear blue and green! Bring water, snacks, banners, and signs. | | |

SF ART EXHIBITION: ARTISTS ADDRESS THE CLIMATE CRISIS Interested in the intersection of art and environmentalism? Check out the Lands End show, installed at the former Cliff House in San Francisco. Hosted by the For-Site Foundation, in partnership with the National Park Service, the exhibition spotlights the work of twenty-seven international and contemporary artists. Their work serves as an overall reflection on the current state of the climate crisis—exploring its multifaceted and interconnected issues, such as racial and gender equity, drought, famine, forced migration, and other human rights.
