Hi! I've been feeling creative this week so this is going to be a bit of a "Doodle Dump" with a celebrity theme. It's February and I JUST realized that all of my newsletters this year were dated 2021. Oops! I fixed it today. Anyway, I didn't send this newsletter last week, my email with gift ideas for Valentine's Day did surprisingly well. I'll do that again in the future! A guide to the doodles below: - My reaction to seeing "Only Murders in the Building," a cute Hulu show starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin, filming a few blocks from me
- How I feel about film shoots in NYC
- My take on The Cut's photoshoot with Julia Fox — Kanye West's girlfriend of about a month
- Help me prep for the next Jewish holiday, Purim
- Jews in Doodles sneak preview
- Also, I made my own parody of a Super Bowl bracket here, I didn't include it in the newsletter for space
Enjoy! If you're new to Danielle in Doodles, welcome! I publish this newsletter of my latest doodles and updates most Sundays, and you can see archives here. |

Reacting to the Julia Fox photoshoot |

I did not see this photoshoot in action, but my doodle did and she was concerned. How'd I do at recreating this dirty (in a bad way) scene? |

Jews in Doodles sneak peek |

This new account is coming very soon, and I'm excited! My DID account was very organic and has changed a lot over the past 1.5 years. It's exciting to start a new account that's more intentional and will be more consistent in style. I landed on this name because it is a) consistent with Danielle in Doodles and B) Even though people liked Jewdle, it's a (hard-to-win) Jewish spin-off on Wordle. Below is a sneak peek of the first Insta post and what I envision the account / community being. I'm excited! I might start another newsletter for Jews in Doodles - reply to this email if you want to be on the list. |

In the mean time, I need feedback on my Purim ideas. Anyone can help! Below are VERY ROUGH sketches of card/digital card ideas. On Purim, which is the Hebrew month of Adar, people give each other Purim baskets, and these can go in them. Also, people dress up, kind of like Halloween, and Punim is Yiddush for Purim. |
|
|
One more question: On Purim, when we listen to the story of the holiday, we use noisemakers to drown out the name of the bad guy, Haman. Who or what is a modern-day "bad guy" we don't want to hear about? Send me your ideas! This can be diseases, politicians, celebrities, places. etc...! And - should I do a graphic holiday guide to the story of Purim? I don't really have time but that usually doesn't stop me. |

See you next week. Lots of exciting stuff to come! xo |
