Are you ready to celebrate the most joyous celebration this year? After missing our annual tradition last year, we're ready for the holiday merriment! It's time to be jolly! Join us for our annual Christmas party on Wednesday, December 15 at the home of our past-president Kathy Pohlid at 505 Clematis Dr. in West Nashville. Beverages will be provided. Please bring your favorite dish to share (appetizer, salad, sides, meats, sandwiches or desserts). Also, remember to bring your gifts for the retired sisters in time for our December 17 Christmastime visit. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly. 10:30 AM -11:30 AM Sisters of Mercy 2629 Pennington Bend Road There are 21 sisters at the convent. We'll present a basket of assorted items donated by members. We will also bring a tray of cookies and the sisters will serve the beverage. |

1:00 PM Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia St. Cecilia Motherhouse at 801 Dominican Drive There are 4 sisters on staff and 8 sisters in care. We will present a check for $500 for a Blood Pressure machine they requested for the infirmary. Tea and cookies will be served. |

At the last NCBWL Board of Directors meeting, we voted to discontinue the “free” and “pay-at-the-door” options for our membership meetings when meals are served. And here’s why… For each meeting, we sign a binding contract with our catering contact for meals based on the RSVP total. There are several people each month who RSVP, say they’ll pay at the door, and then are no-shows. That means we are paying $50-100 to cover their meals – an expense we can’t afford. The Dominican Sisters are requesting a new blood pressure machine that costs $500 for the Infirmary of the Dominican Motherhouse. The Sisters of Mercy asked for the following: - Postage stamps
- Sets of blank note cards
- Thank you cards
- Gift cards to Michaels, Joann Fabric or Hobby Lobby (they have knitters and crafters)
- Towel sets
- Chocolates

NCBWL awards three $17,000 scholarships PEARLS OF WISDOM 2021 RAISED MORE THAN $54,000 |

On three separate occasions held in November, NCBWL awarded the Aurelia Varallo Mariani Scholarship Funds to three students at St. Cecilia Academy, Fr. Ryan High School and Pope John Paul II Preparatory School. Each beneficiary received $17,000. It is the largest amount NCBWL has awarded to date! |

We can't thank you all enough for your support and generous contribution to the Pearls of Wisdom 2021! To see all of the collective efforts come to fruition is one of the highlights of the year. Worth mentioning, the league is also starting an endowment with $5,000 through the ACE Foundation for St. Michael Academy. What a remarkable outcome we can all relish.
