August Newsletter

Dear Brothers and Sisters In Christ,

Thank you for your prayers for me when I had Covid-19. By God’s grace, it wasn’t terrible, and I recovered fairly quickly. I was able to enjoy a good time alone with the Lord, and God showed me His grace while I was in quarantine through my church family and school family bringing me food and medicine for which I am grateful.

I am also grateful for all of the texts and phone calls of encouragement.

I am now living on campus at Dallas International University, and the Fall semester is underway. I am enjoying my classes and look forward to all that God has planned for me to learn this semester.

I arrived home in Texas on August 16. I have had the privilege of getting to spend time with my family, my church family and rest since then.

I will start visiting churches and doing partnership development on September 12. Through the end of the year, I will be doing deputation every Sunday but once a month.  On those Sundays I will happily and
gratefully be spending time with my church family at Sublett Road.

God accomplished much this summer through all of us together.

God allowed me to share His work of Bible Translation and world missions at 30 different churches, the American Baptist Association meeting, Cumberland Baptist Institute, and with many individuals.

He helped me to finish another term of schooling by giving me safe and stable places to stay, internet access, and wonderful hosts.  Again, thank you for your prayers and encouragement; God answered your prayers.

From love offerings this summer, my ministry fund is in a very healthy place for future needs that I already know are coming.

A special thank you to all of the churches and individuals who were God’s hands and feet this summer. I praise the Lord for all of you, for your prayers, and your role in His Kingdom!

Prayer Requests & Needs

  1. The people that I will work with.

2. Those without God’s word.
3. More people to work with them.

4. New Term of School

5. New Chapter of Travels.

Sincerely,

Matthew Thompson
