Warsaw Avenue Creative Campus – pre-leasing! |
Price Hill Will is very excited to begin construction on the long-awaited Warsaw Avenue Creative Campus this fall! We’ll have work underway on eight buildings in the historic 3100 block of Warsaw, including the beloved Firehouse, home to MYCincinnati. Each building will be fully gutted and restored with new electric, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, and more. For the first-floor commercial spaces, we’re bringing the storefronts back to what they looked like when the buildings were originally built, so the spaces will have lots of natural light and large display windows. Our vision for the Warsaw Avenue Creative Campus is to create a place where youth and families can learn and grow together via arts and creative pursuits in the heart of East Price Hill. Warsaw is a main corridor through East and West Price Hill, and the Creative Campus is a way to connect the momentum in the Incline District with the revitalization of ARCO, the Price Hill Library, the Price Hill Recreation Center, Dempsey Park and Pool, and more. Do you or someone you know want to lease a space for families to connect over art, food, music, technology, or other activities? Now is the time to learn more! |

Walk Warsaw Crosswalk Design Chosen |
Walk Warsaw is an opportunity to enhance walkability and moderate vehicular traffic while also improving East Price Hill’s business district through the installation of crosswalk murals. We solicited designs for crosswalk murals at the intersection of St. Lawrence, Warsaw, and Enright Avenues in East Price Hill. After several rounds of submissions, iterations and working diligently with the City of Cincinnati’s Department of Transportation and Engineering, the selection committee has chosen a design and a lead artist. We are thrilled to reveal the design that Lead Artist Marin Emmanuel will be installing at this intersection. We will use the fall/winter to plan and fundraise for the project, and execute the mural in the spring of 2022. |

Homesteading Update: 15 Families and Growing! Our Homesteading program is a vehicle to homeownership for families that do not have access to credit through conventional means and are willing to put in sweat equity and improve their home. The 14th family in the program is gradually moving into a home on Akochia Avenue, a quiet cul-de-sac north of Glenway off of First Avenue. The family of five has been busy painting the exterior, installing new flooring, and putting their own personal touches on the home. The 15th home on Seton Avenue (done in partnership with Elder High School and mentioned as a “Klusman Home” in last month’s newsletter) is almost complete. A family of five has been matched with the home and will complete the remaining work as part of their agreement. A 16th home is under construction on Ring Place in East Price Hill. The home is a 3-4 bedroom and 2 full baths, and is located on a quiet street with a large wooded lot. The home was saved from demolition and completion will likely be in early 2022 since the repairs are fairly substantial. We are always looking for Price Hill houses that may be good candidates for our Homesteading Program. If you have a property that you want to sell to a family but it needs some work let us know the address and we will come take a look. |

Incline Run Art Celebration The Incline Run is a shared-use trail connecting the neighborhoods of Lower and East Price Hill. The 550’ long pathway was a closed section of Maryland Avenue and in a state of disrepair for more than 30 years severing a vital physical and social connection between the neighborhoods. Over the last year, we – with help from the Devou Good Foundation, the City of Cincinnati’s Safe & Clean Neighborhood Fund, the Ohio Arts Council ArtSTART grant, and the Homebase Mini Neighborhood Activation grant – have been curating and overseeing multiple placemaking and art initiatives along the pathway. To commemorate the first batch of art installations, we plan to hold a community celebration on Thursday, October 7th from 2:00-4:30pm at the Incline Run (2623 Maryland Avenue 45204). |

The Let’s Get Physical Program is growing! Let’s Get Physical is halfway through our sixth year, and in that time, we have grown from offering 15 classes in 2016 to now offering up to 260 classes including yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba , meditation and line dance, just to name a few. The classes include students ages 6 to 83. Catering to such an age range requires highly knowledgeable instructors who are prepared to modify classes on the spot to meet the needs of all students. We have offered classes in English and Spanish. The in-person classes are presented at spaces from East to West Price Hill and are also offered online. |
