June/July

2019

Hi everyone!

Apologies for the lack of a newsletter last month. It's been a busy summer, and one day I looked at the calendar and it was already the middle of July! BUT, I'm making up for it now with a combo newsletter detailing what's been going on in the past two months. So, without further ado, here's what I've been up to:

There's a group of vintage fashionistas on Instagram that I've come to know and form friendships with over the past year or so. One of the girls who lives in Athens (Greece) was visiting London this month, so she asked if those of us in London could meet up! Several of us were available, so we all met up at Zedel's, which is a 1930s style restaurant and bar. (It was such a cool place, by the way. I'm totally going back!) We had drinks and a chat before heading to an allergy-friendly restaurant in Soho, and we all had a marvellous time!

I've had a wonderfully busy schedule with lots of singing gigs for various events. One of the first places to book me, The Cannon Pub, had me twice in May/June, and I'm starting to be recognised by the locals around town!

Some of the highlights of my recent singing gigs were: a book signing at Waterstones here in Guildford (pictured left), an Armed Forces Day Dinner at the Berrylands Pub (they've already booked me for a Christmas show, as well!), several private birthday parties, and a senior home summer fete. Super fun!

Earlier in June I did another product shoot for Banned Apparel, including lots of new dresses, shirts, trousers, and bags. As always, the photographer Terry got some fun blooper shots during the day, but this one actually made the cut! I'm not super into purses, but I did love the bags and accessories on this shoot ;)

Erick and I finally upgraded our computer editing suite, so we finally have the power to handle multiple clips of various formats and sizes... which means it was time to update the Showreels! Not much has changed from the last update (I'm still waiting on new footage from a couple short films), but the quality is much better now! Commercial, Corporate, Other Videos

As always, Soho Voices has been wonderful with a great selection of voiceover jobs for me in the past two months.

I also got to play a part in a Corporate Film, as well as participate in some more telephone medical roleplays with The Method.

Art-wise, I've been keeping up with my sketching whenever I have a spare minute. Check out my Online Sketchbook for a unique journal of my everyday life!

I also have two art commissions I really need to buckle down and get working on... when I have time ;)

---

Speaking of commissions, I did some more graphics and simple animations for Erick's Youtube Channel: Eccentric Nature. This week's episode covered the History of Rosemary, so I had fun making some rosemary characters and other illustrations. I've included the video below, so prepare to be educated!

Whew! I think that's about it for work-related news! I've also been having some fun seeing some theatre, busking on the High Street, visiting friends, and trying to stay cool in the recent heatwave! If you want to keep up with my news on a more regular basis, head over to my Instagram or Facebook Fan Page for my (almost) daily posts!

---

Once again, thank you so much for reading! Your support really means a lot to me. I hope you're having a wonderful summer! Bring it on, August!

Hugs-

Rachel
