Part of the mission of the Judith A. Bassett Canid Education and Conservation Center is taking in canids who need a home. In a few weeks I will be flying to the Midwest to meet the two newest members of the JABCECC family. Keep a lookout for updates and see how you can help after they arrive!
My Search for Mountain Lions
Project: PC001
Getting to connect with nature is the biggest driving force in the continuation of this project. What we learn about mountain lions along the way is a bonus to the amazing lessons we learn from the rest of the wild things that reside in these natural lands.

(above) This was the original location that a trail cam was set up on to find mountain lions here in southern California. The scrape location falls along a hiking trail that the mountain lion PCPM001 uses to traverse the area. This particular location had many friendly visitors
(below) The mother and baby coyote were spotted during an excited time at JABCECC! During a walk of the property's perimeter we found signs that indicated mountain lion activity. Common for the area, it can be a tense situation when you consider that there are rescued canids who live here and cannot survive in the wild. Thankfully, it seems as though they caught a smell of the gray wolf Lucan and headed the other way. The trail cam never caught any mountain lions, just some friendly JABCECC neighbors.
Mark your calendars! Sunday, August 13th I will be at the Judith A. Bassett Candid Education and Conservation Center holding mini sessions. These are 30 minute sessions and are a perfect way to get up to the center and meet some of their amazing ambassadors!
There is a lot of time, effort and expense that goes into creating images and working towards conservation goals that protect the wild places we visit. It would be an honor to have my work displayed in your home as a way to keep doing this work!
