Hello, Here's my very first newsletter. If you've got it, we must of connected in some way. This email, is my way of keeping in touch, without you having to scroll through the Metaverse. I want to share highlights, share my artistic journey, and make space to acknowledge and applaud those I encounter along the way. I invite you to grab a biscuit or two, make yourself a cuppa (or indulge in some hot chocolate; Winter is still upon us), and take a look. You might discover overlapping opportunities, learn something new or, depending on age and wisdom, find my news nostalgic. Either way, it would be delightful to share, support, and stay connected. |

It's the season of digging deeper into my craft and streamlining my practice. There is now an opportunity to really reflect (which as a freelancer is important to carve out time for) and identify 'what sparks joy?' This question isn't just reserved for Marie Kondo. In David Hieatt's book Do Purpose: Why Brands with a Purpose Do Better and Matter More, he asks, 'what brings you to life?' With this in mind, I recently submitted an application to the Arts Council England to 'Develop my Creative Practice.' Even if this is not successful, it won't deter the desire I have to push into refining my approach and therefore, the connections and experiences I have planned will not go to waste. |

In a delightful journey through time, I had the privilege of contributing to Quirk Theatre's 2023 Christmas Show, '5 Children & It.' The creative team, larger than ever, allowed me to build upon last year's experience as the Movement Director for 'Mary The Pigeon Who Never Gave Up.' This year, I crafted a unique movement language for the cast, along with a collective routine, enhancing stamina, flexibility, and immersive storytelling. I dove into problem-solving—whether it be with people, props, or puppetry on stage. Collaborating with the team, we enhanced physicality in the smallest of details, meticulously refining stage directions as well as looking at the bigger picture and the overall visual effects of movement, lighting and sound. Check out the 40 project, a monthly service for vulnerable women in Plymouth. We create over 40 sanitary kits delivered to local hostels, sofa surfing and homeless women. Each month, we add in extra items that have been donated. This month it was hair products and a hairbrush. Click the link to find out more. |
