Welcome my October monthly newsletter! :) What do you think of when you think of October? Spontaneously I come up with the following: leaves, pumpkin, apples, acorns, sweaters, nuts, squirrels, sunflower, red, orange, yellow, seeds, bonfire, quilt, hot chocolate, cozy, crisp, wind, fog, crackling, and chestnuts. I find Autumn so very bountiful and inspiring! :) If you have any suggestions or ideas you want to see here, please just drop me an email at 49dragonflies@gmail.com. My bestie and I went to a spa town about 1/2 hour south of Vienna (where I live). We actually went for an amazing outdoor photo exhibition, but very soon got stuck at a flea market! :) It was such a cute one too! They had an amazing stand with linens and of course I had to get a few! You can hear more about this adventure in my upcoming "Sunday Junk Journal Snacks" episode #12 on YouTube. I will also have some linen printables for you to play with at that time as well :). |

I just love the warm colors of Autumn and the thought of being all cozy at home with a hot chocolate after a walk in nature, crisp leaves under your feet and maybe watching cute squirrels cross your path. That's what inspired my new "Cozy Autumn Backgrounds". Also, I miss venturing into the forest with my dad for mushroom hunting.... |

This photo is an exclusive sneak peek of an upcoming video series making a junk journal using original children's book images. I had a blast with this and will treasure this junk journal for a long time. I hope this mini series will inspire you to use your vintage books as well... |

Another video coming up this month is another one with Gelli printing. If you saw my last attempt where I was making prints for my Autumn junk journal, you will know I definitely needed help getting better results with my Gelli plate. I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to get one-on-one lessons from another artists, who is really good at this! Make sure you are subscribed and have the bell notifications on so that you won't miss this gem! :) |

My latest freebie for you is one I have introduced in my recent "Sunday Junk Journal Snack" video #11 part 1 (part 2 is published right before this newsletter goes out). You get a print of a snippet roll with photos of flowers on top, which I have photographed in the botanical garden here in Vienna. This snippet roll is on top of a really old, grungy paper. You can either use it as is or cut the snippet roll out to tuck something underneath. Enjoy! And another freebie was just added to my shop as well :) | | |

Maybe you missed the 2nd episode of my visual junk journal podcast! I have again featured joie de fi and Luise Heinzl to discuss your most requested junk journal related questions! We hope you are enjoying this series as much as we are! :) I am planning to post more of these, also with new artists... |

In this section I like to present works of art by some of my viewers. Last month I featured Pam's take on a zipper tag inspired by my video from April "I Was Challenged To Create An Altered Zipper Tag" This month I'm featuring her sister, Lori :). This is what Pam wrote me:"My sister Pam and I did a craft video chat together and created your amazing zipper tag. It was so much fun to create we decided this is one we will definitely do again. Your inspiration and instructions are top notch and easy to follow. I love the fact that you just continue on whether a mistake was made or not as it teaches us to find a way around something we are not happy with. Thank you for the inspiration and your videos." |

One of my viewers, Lorraine suggested I add an article featuring something like "A Day In My Life" and I'm happy to oblige :). This is a rough breakdown of what a typical work day looks like for me on the days I film (no day is ever the same though): 07:30 get up and check emails, requests, YouTube and Instagram comments (I usually do this still in bed) 08:00 go for a walk/run 10:00 video preparations (decide on topic, prepare intro script, prepare any materials) 11:00 - 14:00 filming 14:00 lunch break, reading time, checking emails and comments again 15:30 - 18:30 video editing 18:30 - 19:30 break, prepare and eat dinner, watch YouTube videos 19:30 - 21:30 continue editing video and upload to YouTube 21:30 checking emails and comments |

I want to thank each and every one of you who has kindly donated one or more coffees to me! I'm overwhelmed by your kindness. There were also quite a few anonymous donations, so thank you for those as well! I feel shy about asking for donations and I never do in my videos, but I did want to provide a link for those who have been asking me how they could support me in making more videos.... |
