Hello! It's been a hot minute since you last got a newsletter from me. Whew! 2021 has been a pretty crazy ride for me thus far in many different regards, but I'm so happy to see so many new subscribers join my list! Due to that, I'll do a little intro just in case you need one (or forgot who I am, ha). I'm Alli! I write Sci-Fi and Fantasy, but I particularly enjoy combining the two genres in certain ways, though most of my reading (and writing in general) leans more to the fantasy side. My WIP is a (clean) New Adult Science Fantasy series that's basically Rogue One x Violet Evergarden...so basically a ragtag crew goes off on an adventure in a world where technology has disappeared (but is slowly creeping back into society). Think Victorian flair with a healthy dash of adventure and a little bit of magic. |

At present, I'm also really into making s'mores in my microwave whenever I get a strong chocolate craving. I'm also trying to perfect a from scratch chocolate cookie recipe, but I haven't made them as tasty as the Nestle Chocolate Chip Lovers break-off ones yet. Sigh. My favorite authors are: Brandon Sanderson, Garth Nix, Tamora Pierce, and Michael J. Sullivan. Favorite films? Lion King ('94), Howl's Moving Castle, Your Name, all the Lord of the Rings, A Beautiful Mind, Where the Heart Is, and Two Weeks Notice. (That was such a random list of movies...) But most importantly, I'm a Christian trying to live life according to God's will. |

I don't really know where to start, but life circumstances have thrown me for a loop (more on that below!). Therefore, I haven't been doing much writing at all. Actually, I have done ZERO writing in the last two months. I've thought a lot about it, but heh, that's it. BUT my current plan for June: 1. Prepare for the last round (hopefully) of edits on The Promise of Shattered Stars #1 (my Science Fantasy) so that I can dive in fully this July. 2. Finish off the 1.5 draft of TPoSS #2! 3. Figure out what I'm writing next whether that is TPoSS #3 or one of my other partially outlined ideas. |

While I've been trying to survive my first trimester I did a WHOLE lot of thinking....and I'm happy to announce I'll be SELF-PUBLISHING my Science Fantasy series (where TPoSS is the first in the series!). AHHH! I'm SO stinkin excited. I'll be going into more detail about this bit of writing news in my YT video tomorrow, so make sure you're subscribed! |
