We Made It!

My dog, Mona, and I made the trek to Belize three weeks ago. Honduras and Belize are nearly bordering countries so it should be a short trip but because of limited airline routes and restrictions on traveling with pets due to Covid, it was a 36 hour trip. Although I encountered multiple "roadblocks" on and before the journey, I felt the prayers of all my supporters as things continued to be worked out before me. Mona traveled like a champ in my backpack carrier and now we are both adjusting to life in Belize!

I have spent the past few weeks getting settled by finding an apartment, shopping for the apartment and buying a Speed the Light car. You may remember in my last newsletter I mentioned that there was only one AG missionary in Belize. I am so thankful for her and her willingness to help me get settled in my new home. She has been so helpful and a great resource for me.

Prayer Requests:

  • As you know, I raised a budget in 2019 to move to Honduras and did not anticipate making another move this term. My account has taken a hit as costs of flights, visa, luggage, etc. were all unexpected expenses that I did not raise funds for. Belize is a more expensive place to live so my daily costs have raised significantly as well. I hope to add monthly support as well as one time gifts in the next few weeks to offset the change.

  • In order to save money, instead of bringing all my luggage on the plane I opted to send almost all of it on a ferry from Honduras to a port in the south of Belize. I dropped my things off in Honduras a month ago and it has yet to arrive in Belize. The ferry will not travel until the boat is full of cargo so the trip has been delayed many times. I am praying that it arrives this week!

  • Please pray for the beginning of this new ministry. I need open doors from pastors and volunteers who are willing to lead children's ministries in their churches.

  • Please pray for our AG ChildHope schools in Belize. I am working with the other missionary in Belize to "revamp" the inner workings of the sponsorship programs. I will also be building a discipleship platform to connect the local church to the students in the school.
