Heya there Moon's Nest Folks! A very Merry Beltane to all of you. Mid Spring is upon us, the veil is thin, and magic is everywhere. Welcome, to the time of Peonies in bloom, wildflower walks, mischievous squirrel quarrels, and the emergence of our dear friends, the Honey Bees. This Beltane to Summer Solstice tide is absolutely my most anticipated time of the whole year, as it holds so much opportunity to celebrate and honor life, abundance, and fertility. I pray you find yerself, with as much frequency as your life allows, wandering in meadows, werkin' yer garden, telling the flowers how much you luv them, and watching the spectacular show of wildlife that is most certainly all around you no matter where in this bio region you make yer home. Just yesterday I watched an eagle scouting in the sky from my bike commute on the Spring Water Corridor. I thanked them for their part in the ever insistent teachings from the land this season; even here in the urban environment, magic is everywhere. As I begin preparing for this last seasonal tide as lead teacher fer the Moon's Nest Playschool, I be leaning into the full spectrum of feelings that be comin' up fer me around this transition. I've been so very blessed to spend my days with our witchlet apprentices, and it be dang bittersweet to think on not leading our days every week. Howeva, I be so lookin' forward to focusing on cultivating the Moon's Nest School of Magic, Mischief, & Mystery and establishing our Forest School so that our mentorship and offerings can grow with our witchlets as they age. And, I trust that our new lead teacher Claire will lead our playschool with continuity in practice and pedagogy. So, all is well and I welcome these transitions wholeheartedly. Please be assured that I luv our dear playschool family and will continue to be a guest teacher throughout these transitions, and will remain in my role as playschool administrator for the foreseeable future. Okee doke, please do read on fer all the details n all the happenings fer this upcoming tide. xoxo, Granny Flow |

From our New Teaching Partner, Claire Hello Moon's Nest families! Just a quick note to say what a complete delight it's been to get to know your kiddos over the past month or so. They've been showing me the magical spots around playschool and the neighborhood, introducing me to all of our plant friends, teaching me our agreements around kindness and consent, and infusing so much joy into my days. They've also been incredibly patient and gentle with my own little one Archer who, at sixteen months, is slowly but surely getting used to the world of playschool. I am so excited for a summer full of sunshine, outdoor play, and lots of magic! |

A huge heap of gratitude to all my friends who joined me at the 1st annual Phlox & Flame!! What a memorable and magical camp we made together. We shared Field Studies at the beach, met plants, worked with egg symbolism, honored fertility and Ostara, enjoyed the cozy wood stove fire in our cabin, feasted on all the food, roasted s'mores, and raised up a frenzy of witchlet chaos magic fer the ancestors to feed on. I'm so looking forward to next year and weaving all of our Spring magics with Grandmother Ocean again. |

**Above photo sourced from Lauren Parker Photography http://www.laurenparkerphotography.com/ Echoes In Time July 21 – 27, 2019 Monmouth, Or About this Camp From the Echoes In Time website "Echoes in Time is a week long ancestral skills conference held every July in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and the Traditional Territory of the Kalapuya, near Monmouth. Our mission is to unite people from different demographics, communities, and backgrounds, through the sharing of common traditions of place-based ancestral living skills. Participants camp out on private property and enjoy 5 days of learning various skills from the “stone age” to the “iron age” (basketry, bows & arrows, wild edible plants, pottery, black-smithing, stone tools, felting, animal tracking, and more). This is an excellent family adventure and no previous experience is required. In this age of ever-increasing technology and globalization, the skills of preindustrial people are being forgotten. Come remember them with us." Fer full details, please visit the Echoes In Time website Be sure to check out the video from last year's gathering and watch fer Lorax & I, along with some other faces familiar to our playschool family!
