We have a Colorado Primary Election approaching to be held on Tuesday, June 25. There is only one contested Primary race among Arapahoe-related Republicans and that is for the Congressional District 4 seat which covers a vast area of Northern, Southeastern and Central Colorado.
US House of Representatives Congressman Ken Buck has recently resigned his position representing these good people which places a Special Election on the ballot to replace him for the six months left in his term.
This gives you two votes to cast. First, you will vote for Greg Lopez, the only Republican running to replace Ken Buck. This "Special Election" will be clearly identified on the ballot. It is vitally important that Greg wins the Special Election to keep the seat in Republican hands and retain our House majority.
Second, you will also vote for a Republican who will represent you and our party into the future, beginning on January 4, 2025.
We asked each of the six very strong candidates running for CD4 to briefly introduce themselves and then answer four important questions. We asked them to limit their response to 600 words.
Here are the six candidates:
Lauren Boebert
Deborah Flora
Richard Holtorf
Mike Lynch
Jerry Sonnenberg
Peter Yu
The introduction request and the three questions we posed are:
Introduction: Please provide a 3 point highlight introducing yourself.
What are your top 5 priority projects to accomplish if elected?
Some of our previous and current Colorado Congressional Representatives seem
disconnected from their Party and from their constituency. How can we have
confidence you won't do the same?
What makes you more electable than your opponents?
The candidates responded to our questions and shared with us why they believe they are the best person to fill the CD4 seat and what they will do if elected.
* Included below is a statement from Greg Lopez.
Also here are responses to our three questions from Lauren Boebert the only candidate of the three that were not included in the previous "Part 1" newsletter. Congresswoman Boebert was the only one of the three to respond. Mike Lynch and Peter Yu chose not respond.
