COBIS: Council of British International Schools For those British-trained teachers who are looking for something more familiar whilst working overseas, have a look at COBIS, the Council of British International Schools. They support over 270 British International schools in 80 countries. And just last week on February 21, 2024, they announced a partnership with WASC (Western Association for Schools and Colleges), where each organization will jointly recognize each other's Accreditation. WASC has over 5000 accredited schools in the USA, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. This means British-trained teachers will have even further opportunities to join international schools in the near future. But COBIS is more than an accrediting organization; they also have a job board advertising international teaching jobs all over the world. Read on for more information... |

Right now COBIS has over 500 Global Jobs advertised on their website: You can sort their jobs with "Expiring Soon" where the application due date is fast approaching; Or you can choose the country, for example: the United Arab Emirates has over 100 jobs listed, with China a close second at over 80 job opportunities; You can also further filter the jobs listed, for example by the subject you teach or by the level (primary, secondary) that you prefer; There are even over 30 leadership positions listed, from Head of Department to Assistant Head of School. Finally, in the "More filters" option, Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT) could search possible positions open to them.
