End of Year Get-Together

Lots of fun at the end of year get together

Making up our own words to Christmas carols was a huge success

A sing-along with Cindy was a great note to end the evening. Tra-la-la.

Words from Michelle

As 2023 draws to a close, we have the opportunity to look back at the myriad of achievements at Te Puke Repertory throughout the year

We started with the completion of the Vicar of Dibley season, that had been interrupted by Covid. It was good to be able to satisfy the ticket holders and give the actors the opportunity to finish what they had started.

The successful Simply Short Play Festival with six plays selected and performed. There was a lot of scope offered to playwrights, directors and actors. It was exciting to see new people make their stage debut.

Carol Power Voice Studio students had their concert mid year.

We revamped the stage, wings and passageway at the theatre and it is looking rather sharp with new carpet laid as well.

Social events took place with a Mid-Winter Christmas party, a Downton Abbey

skit performed at the Kiwicoast Lions Change-over meeting and play-readings.

Killer Boobs written by Tim Hambleton and directed by Pam Chapman was

onstage in August. A poignant play that was highly successful and well received by our community and local breast cancer charities.

Te Puke Rep was featured on TV’s Seven Sharp, in an article celebrating the

value of local theatre.

Footrot Flats – A Stage Musical showcased a great Kiwi tale. The large cast, supported by an amazing crew, performed 12 sold-out shows.

Te Puke Repertory created an award at Te Puke Intermediate for Services to the Performing Arts – In Memory of Colin Cooper.

The Cooper Family presented the Rep Cup along with a gift of $50 to Leiland Woodin.

All in all, we have had a busy and productive year. There have been a lot of new faces on stage including many young people, as well as our faithful theatre members.

There has been a lot to enjoy and celebrate at the Litt Park Theatre.

To follow: New committee meeting 2024

Some of our committee members will not be standing for re-election in 2024.

We thank them for their dedicated work, support and commitment to the management and direction of Te Puke Rep over the years.

We invite you to put yourself forward as a Committee candidate.

Being on the Committee broadens your exposure to the heart of theatre, is rewarding and you get to work with a great bunch of people.

If you do not wish to be on the Committee but would like to offer your time or services occasionally, we are always looking for people to spread the load. Please contact us and we will be delighted to add you to our list of willing helpers. Help with maintenance, technical know-how, catering, stage set building and other facets of the theatre are required.
