We launch Program Proposal:
Strengthening the Great Green Wall of the Sahel Africa

Support this initiative to solve the current humanitarian catastrophe, 27,072,615 people are in a situation of food and nutritional vulnerability that increases annually by 76%

To stop the advance of the Sahara desert, there is the Great Green Wall project, devised by the Kenyan Wangari Maathai since 1977 and launched by the African Union in 2007, but it is progressing slowly, so we recommend the actions to be carried out to generate socioeconomic benefits and environmental ones that accelerate the recovery of desertified areas and stop the advance of the desert sands.

Santiago, Chile July 28, 2022, the NGO Arca Tierra, its president and winner of the National Geographic Society Patricia Rincón, designed a program to build the great Green Wall, in the Sahel hunger belt, to support the Union African in the leadership of effective strategies to stop desertification and recover ecosystems with sustainable development, with quality of life and continuous consolidation of human and environmental rights, supported by democracies of shared responsibilities, adjusted to their culture and breaking down inequalities, through empowerment of women, the main victims of global warming and poverty, will be the ones to lead the activities of this wonderful project.

We offer our non-profit education and advice to the African Union and international organizations to support this proposal, we need you to echo these solutions to defeat hunger, poverty and desertification that affects hundreds of millions of people.

Download the summary of this proposal, available in English and Spanish languages.

Sincerely,

Patricia Rincón
