I'm sure I’m not the only one who feels like the approaching of 2020 was considerably more than a year ago and that it will be a pleasure to now see the back of it. But before we wave it goodbye, there is the small matter of the strangest of Christmases on the horizon...
This time of the year usually triggers a need for some Danish 'hygge' in my life and none more so than this forthcoming Christmas. I want festive lights, chilly nights, a warm fire, mulled wine and plenty of candles to boot. Mine are supplied by Frinton’s finest gift boutique, Great Danes, with whom I have exciting plans for 2021.
Please see below my competition for a chance to win a super cute trio of Scandinavia's finest nisser (cute Christmas gnomes)!
And whilst on the subject of Christmas gifts, let it not be forgotten that travel is one of the greatest things to both give and receive. And as the opportunity to travel next year is starting to become a reality, why not treat your friends or loved ones to a 'feel good' present and something exciting to look forward to? Holidaysplease vouchers of any denomination from £50 upwards can be purchased from me to be used towards future holidays.
For those considering booking a trip for next year, I would certainly encourage you to start planning now as there are some excellent deals available and amazing reductions to be had. Many airlines, hoteliers and tour operators are offering a much more flexible approach due to the pandemic, and are not applying normal penalties in respect of cancellations and amendments. And most of the travel insurance specialists are now including Covid-19 cancellation within their policies.
The value of a reputable travel agent has never been more apparent than through this pandemic and with the constantly changing landscape, I have had to stay on top of the latest restrictions. I was delighted to be asked to be part of a recent panel for a live Agent Matters discussion about Lockdown 2.0 and its impact, hosted by industry publication TTG.
I have also been cramming in preparation of my first ever online client event, with specialists InsideJapan, which I am excited to be hosting in early 2021. Those with a hankering to visit Japan should look out for forthcoming details for the chance to attend this exclusive session with a very limited number of spaces available.
As always, thank you for the continued messages of support and for helping me stay positive through this crazy year. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe, happy and peaceful festive period. Looking forward to better times a-coming...
