BLACK IS ME
Black is me
like midnight I came into the world
Obeah like
Enchanting
Stirring energies long forgotten
Calling forth the power fo Earth's uterus to manifest in me
Black is me
Like the fertilised egg swimming in the darkness of the womb
I embrace the memory of my primordial pool with reverence
and love
Swimming back and forth
Looking
Feeling for the wall of flesh to anchor my mass
New beginnings is my tomorrows
Primordial blackness is my yesterdays
Black is me
Life is carried within my blackness
The primordial egg
From daybreaks of hope
Light is gentle released
And mother Earth pays homage to my night
Black is me
I am zero
The circle from which all realities spring
Wise men of yesteryears celebrate my all knowing
All embracing generosity
Sacrificial animals bled in my name
Energising my everlasting force
I am the mother of mothers
The all-seeing nurturer of life eternal
Black is me
I am Amen
The omnipotent one
From my abode of darkness
Zero
The circle
I issue forth constellations
Summoning life in all its complexity
Blackness is sub-consciousness
It is the subjective giving expression to the objective
It is time like the coiled snake going back to the beginning
What was yesterday will be tomorrow
Today remains the embodiment of al possibilities
Black is me
I wear this sacred cloak like a shield
I celebrate its power with each breath
And angels bow down at my feet
Forever giving thanks
I am heru
The North star
The North star
The black dot
The all-seeing eye
Shango's lightening is my tongue
Black is me
