There's still time to sign up for York County Reads! This exciting challenge connects York County readers of all ages as they read together for this year's theme, "What's Cooking in York County?"   • Explore the World of Coffee: Join Nick Peñaloza of the local Forte Legato Coffee Company for a fascinating look at the world of coffee, from Brazil and beyond. We'll learn about the intricate process of coffee cultivation, planting, harvesting, and more, and how climate and geography uniquely shape each region's coffees and their differences. Ages 18+.   • Fresh and Healthy Vegan: Certified fitness trainer and vegan Charita Ashley of TYMTYB invites you to learn how to prepare, and then taste, vegan dishes. She'll also share some fitness tips, too! Start Your Own Garden with 'Seed Library'

York's seed library returns this month, with seed packets for a fall or winter vegetable garden. And now, thanks to several generous seed donations from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company, the Burpee Seed Company, and the Master Gardners of York County, Lake Wylie has its own seed library! All these seeds are yours to keep, but they're only available while they last – act fast!*

*Quantities are limited to four seed packets per person, per visit and cannot be of the same variety plant. For more details, call the York Library at (803) 684-3751 or the Lake Wylie Library at (803) 831-7774.

Enjoy hoopla Bonus Borrows Every Month!

Once available quarterly, hoopla’s Bonus Borrows are now a monthly occurrence! No borrows? No problem! These titles don't count against your monthly limit and are available the last seven days of each month. Visit YCL's Virtual Library for hoopla now, where you'll continue to have access to over 1 million audiobooks, eBooks, comics, movies, TV shows, and more.

  • Women's History Month: If you're interested in women’s suffrage, other elements of women’s history, or even performances and art by women, hoopla has it all. Join us to honor the woman's right to vote with hoopla's curated, fantastic collection of relevant titles in all formats, all month long.

  • National Craft Month: March is National Craft Month, and Creativebug is celebrating with a variety of seasonal classes! Whether you're a fan of fiber arts, paper crafts, or baking, you can find all of these, including unlimited access to over 1,000 online art and craft classes, videos, and more.

Find Resources for Tax Forms and Preparation

YCL still offers limited Federal tax forms for 2023 to the public. Currently, only Forms 1040, 1040-SR, and instructions are available. Visit the IRS website to view, download, print, and order Federal tax products online. No paper state forms are available. All Locations: Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–7 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.

Main Library (Rock Hill), Fort Mill, & Lake Wylie: Saturday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.

Clover & York: Saturday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

  • St. Patrick's Day: Fort Mill Library will close at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 16, for the Baxter Village Spring Fling Festival and St. Patrick's Day Parade.

    Clover Library will also close that entire day for its own Festival and Parade.

 

  • Easter Holiday: Happy Easter! As a reminder, all York County Libraries are closed on Sundays.

 

  • Friends Books on Main: Shop a huge selection of books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks for all ages at the Friends of the Library bookstore, open to the public at 206 E. Main St. in Old Town Rock Hill, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
