WFWP Founder's 80th birthay celebration.

"Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon is a well-known figure as the co-founder of the Women's Federation for World Peace International (WFWPI) and for her contributions to peacebuilding and interfaith dialogue. It is indeed notable that she celebrated her 80th birthday in May 2023 in Korea with members and friends of WFWPI.

During the various celebrations held from May 2nd to 8th, guests from around the world gathered to honor Dr. Moon and celebrate her life and achievements. The Opening Ceremony of the Peace Summit 2023, which was held on May 2nd, marked the beginning of the week-long celebrations. The dedication of the Cheon Won Gung, a temple dedicated to God and where people from all over the world can pray, took place on May 7th. This temple is considered to be a significant milestone in the spiritual history of our world…

The week of celebrations ended with the Concluding Victory Celebration, during which guests sang and wished Dr. Moon a very happy birthday. The event was a testament to Dr. Moon's lifelong commitment to promoting peace and unity among people of different cultures and religions.

In her words, Mother Moon expressed gratitude and said,

“Today we are speaking about peace—peace in our world. Throughout human history people have sought to realize a world of peace, yet we have always experienced war and conflict. How and when will peace come to humankind?

Today, our planet suffers immensely due to ignorance…

We cannot merely stand quietly on the side-lines. The sole path to resolving these issues and safeguarding our future is attending Heavenly Parent as our center and working together.

I gratefully receive the kind hearts of the distinguished participants here who have congratulated me on my 80th birthday. Although it is a small offering, I wish to donate $800,000 for the sake of the world.”

Dr. Moon's work with WFWPI has been instrumental in advancing the cause of peace and empowering women around the world. WFWPI is a non-governmental organization with consultative status at the United Nations and has been active in promoting the role of women in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Dr. Moon's contributions to this cause have been significant and have helped to inspire many people around the world to work towards a more peaceful and just society."

Harmony in the Family

Easter Family Retreat: Many families are struggling to give their children the care and safety that they want to give. They lack knowledge, tools, skills, Emotional support, or capacity to improve the family situation. In addition, asking the public for help can be intimidating or complicated. This seminar was meant to create a safe space for families and to combine recreation with solution-oriented education and tools to manage everyday life. People of all ages and faith backgrounds were invited. See full report.

Patricia Earle Testimony.

In March this year, a WFWP sister, Karen Grant, nominated my peace and community activities of the last 30 years for a ‘Coronation Champions’ award. Queen Camilla, in particular, has been working for some time to promote such activities through the Royal Voluntary Service. There were about 5,000 nominations across the UK, and 500 were selected by a panel of judges. On April 19th, I got an email from the RVS, saying that I had been chosen for an award !! About a week later, a package arrived in the post containing a beautiful certificate signed by King Charles and Queen Camilla, a special pin to wear, and 2 tickets for the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle on May 7th. I could hardly believe it. It’s very meaningful, because so many women have been involved over the years in our WFWP work, especially in our Birmingham Women’s Peace Group, coming together on a regular basis, getting rid of fear and prejudice, building friendships, and then joining together in all kinds of ways to do something of benefit for society. I feel the award pays tribute to this, as well as the broader work and ideals of WFWP. I travelled down to Windsor on the 7th, with my husband David, and really enjoyed all the wonderful entertainment which was offered at the concert. We were seated with many of the other Coronation Champions, and I could see that they were all pure hearted people who have been working hard at the community level, for the good of society. It was a memorable evening. I think the award will give respect and credibility to our efforts, and I hope that, with time, it will be possible to make our royal couple more aware of the amazing work which we are all doing in the Women’s Federation. Thank you.
