COUNSELLING MINISTRY

There are certain times in our lives when we feel stuck or unable to cope. If you are going through a season of challenges and need emotional support, the Lay Counselling Ministry in the Bible Church would love to pray and journey with you through your struggles and difficulties.

Trained counsellors are available to help with pastoral care and short-term counselling for children, youth and adults, including TBC members, regular attendees and those seeking Christian counsel.

Coffee, snacks, and good conversation. Bring the love of Jesus to migrant workers at Kranji Recreation Centre through your friendship and hospitality. We welcome all with a heart for these brothers to join our kopi sessions –

Together with the Ladies Ministry, join us for monthly baking or craft sessions at Gladiolus Place – a non-profit Christian residential refuge for at-risk teenage girls. We welcome all females (young and young at heart) to be part of the restoration journey in these girls’ lives –

DEDICATION OF CHURCH COUNCIL

This weekend, we will be dedicating and praying for our incoming Church Council for this upcoming term of office. We thank God for the council members who have served in the past council, especially Elder Glen Tan who has stepped down for the coming term.

GOOD NEIGHBOURS FUNDRAISING

As of 10 April 2023, we have collected a total of $21,446. Thank you for every single donation we had received. Your generosity means everything to us and to the community we serve. Our target is $37000, we will continue to trust God to provide the funds we need through the church.

You can partner us in showing love and hospitality to the West Coast and Clementi community by giving to our upcoming Good Neighbours initiatives. To fund these initiatives, we are raising a total of $37,000. We invite you to give from a grateful heart, out of the abundance that God has first given to us.

1. New Blocks Outreach

• Deliver a welcome gift to at least 1,127 units of new residents as an expression of our neighbourly love. Watch this space for more information on this initiative!

2. Adopt-A-Family ‍‍

• We thank God for allowing us to bring the love of Jesus to 20 low-income families in the West Coast and Clementi area last year.

• In 2023, we will continue to be Jesus’ hands and feet to up to 30 families, infusing the hope of the gospel through love and practical help.

The collection will continue to be taken this weekend and can be put into the designated collection boxes at the exits of the Sanctuary. Additional funds collected will be channelled to other Good Neighbours initiatives.

CRUX 1ST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Testify Series: Jemima Ooi

Crux is turning 1! And we have invited Jemima Ooi, a young adult missionary in Africa, to be our speaker.

Come hear the story of how God led a young adult who graduated with First Class honours, the top student in National University of Singapore’s School of Communications and New Media, to take the road less travelled, helping to rebuild war-affected communities, serving refugees and rape victims, church planting etc. in some of the most broken places on earth. Be inspired as Jemima shares stories of how she knew from a young age that her journey in life would not be an ordinary one, and how her decisions have impacted her, her family, friends and those around her.

Everyone, especially young adults, is invited to come, learn, and celebrate with us!

UPCOMING MISSIONS TRIPS TILL JUNE 2023

During the second half of the year, we plan to send mission teams to Nepal and to selected locations where our EquipAsia training is going on. These teams will be smaller in size and may include travel to remote places and have a specific ministry focus. If you are interested to go for mission trips to Nepal or to EquipAsia countries, please contact Asst Ps Gift Daniel.

Pre-Mission Trip Training

To derive the maximum benefit from the mission trips, we have certain guidelines for mission trippers. One of them is to attend the pre-mission trip orientation cum training session. The training provides an overall understanding of missions and attempt to address questions such as: Why go on a short-term mission trip? What are the Do’s and Don’ts of a mission trip? What can you expect from a mission trip? How to avoid turning a mission trip into a holiday trip, etc.? All our mission trippers are expected to go through this training. Please participate in the training even if you are not sure of your participation in a trip, but are considering a trip in the next 2 years.

IN APPRECIATION

CHEW MEE FANG'S RESIGNATION

We bid farewell to our Ministry Support Staff, Mee Fang, who has tendered her resignation. Her last day with us is on 30 April 2023. She will be clearing her leave from 17 April onwards. We would like to thank Mee Fang for her faithful service since she joined the staff team in 1993. Please join us to bless and wish her God's best in the next season of her life.

PRAYER@CG CLUSTERS

Date: 28 April 2023 (Friday)

Venue: Various

Platforms: Physical and/or Digital

Amongst the young adults and adults who worship at The Bible Church, approximately 30%-35% attend Prayer@CG meetings but only 5%-10% attend Church Prayer Meetings. A major reason for greater attendance at Prayer@CG may be familiarity and a sense of ownership.

With the hope of encouraging more of us to participate in corporate prayer this year, we are replacing two Church Prayer Meetings with Prayer@CG Clusters meetings. The 5 CG Clusters will meet as 5 gatherings for prayer, led by the respective CG Overseers (CGOs). The CGOs will coordinate through the respective CG Leaders. Those who do not belong to a CG may reach out to any of the CGOs (Ps Keet Keong, Kok Wah, Wei-en, Gift & Timothy) to join the prayer meeting. Do join us on 28 April.

COMMUNITY MEALS

The next community meals will be held in the Grace Fellowship Hall on:

• 29 April 2023 after Saturday Service at 6.15pm (Dinner)

• 30 April 2023 after Sunday 2nd Service at 11.30am (Lunch)

CHURCH CAMP 2023

Following last year's memorable campference where we learnt a lot about the views of different generations, we continue with these intergenerational conversations at our long-awaited church camp, which will be held from 16-19 June (Fri-Mon) at Forest City Marina Johor Bahru. With the theme “Gen Fest - Celebrating the Generations”, let's take a time out together to hear from Reverend Tan Kay Kiong as he shares more about the multigenerational church and God's plans for us.
