Celebrating One Year of the Couture Pattern Museum

A Journey of Passion, Preservation, and Progress

We are delighted to announce that the Couture Pattern Museum has just celebrated its one-year anniversary! As we reflect on our journey, we're filled with gratitude for the incredible progress we've made and the support we've received from our community.

When we began, our primary goal was to urgently digitize and archive rare couture sewing patterns before they disintegrated. In just one year, we've successfully digitized over 188 patterns, but our work is far from over. We've barely scratched the surface!

Celebrating the Couture Pattern Museum's Community, Achievements, and Founders Circle Members

As we shared our mission publicly, many of you reached out, eager to join our cause. Thanks to your enthusiasm, we've accomplished so much in such a short time. This year, we have:

  • Moved to an office inside WorkZones at the Paseo Nuevo Mall

  • Launched two public exhibitions

  • Conducted two haute couture workshops

  • Created an online community

  • Been featured on APNews and KTLA

  • Launched our very own app

  • Established the Atelier blog reader membership and Founders Circle membership

We are especially grateful to our exhibition Sponsor, WorkZones, and the Founders Circle members for their commitment to preserving these patterns for future generations. This passionate group enjoys access to our archives, exclusive haute couture secrets, and engaging discussions as we begin to develop online courses. Early founding members have locked in their membership price as a token of our appreciation for their investment in our mission.

Embarking on Year Two: The Coronation Couture Exhibition and Our Ongoing Commitment to Couture Preservation

Now, as we close our first chapter, we're excited to embark on our second year with a powerful, timely exhibition: Coronation Couture. The founder, Cara, has invested over 1,000 hours into this project, from creating garments to conducting research, all within just four months.

As we move forward, we are eager to continue preserving these treasured patterns and sharing our passion for historical couture patterns with you. Thank you for your unwavering support, and here's to another successful year!

Warmest Regards,

Cara Austine
